Audible China:Literature,Music And Auditory Culture

In the map of cultural studies.previous studies have focused more on the visual.After entering the 21 st century.scholars in humanities and social sciences have found that the long—standing focus on the sensory sense of vision has led to the expansion of visual rationality and the neglect of auditory research.ignoring such issues as how people listen in different societies and cultures,how they listen,and what kind of social relationships they embody.It has led to a tendency for cultural studies to present a deaf type of research.There is an auditory turn in the field of cultural studies.This study focuses on the status of auditory culture research,sorts out the theoretical resources of auditory research scattered in various fields.By looking at the contemporary Chinese experience from the perspectives of modern literature and pop music as the objects,we explore the mechanisms of production,dissemination and reception of sound in the Chinese context,presenting a “Audible China” hidden in literature and pop music.we hope to draw reader’s attention to new listening practices in the contemporary Chinese experience,to open up perspectives for rethinking listening and understanding the world,and to provide a new interpretive soundtrack for cultural studies.
