As an important content of traditional culture,the situation and development of clan culture in modern society is a broad and profound proposition.To realize the effective docking and integration of tradition and modernity is not only the value orientation of clan culture itself under historical inheritance,but also an important goal of contemporary national cultural integration.This paper use the relationship change and interaction role between of the social economic,political,and cultural structure in the social form as the macro background and interpretation power,combined with cultural philosophy perspective,from the practice perspective of the "cultural protection" to focus on the ancestral temple which is the main carrier of clan culture and the core essential factor in social change of the identity transformation process,to explore complicated dialectical relationship between the clan culture and country society since the modern times.Yang’s ancestral temple in J Village is a traditional ancestral temple built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China in southwest Hunan province,with a history of more than 100 years.In general,the traditional ancestral temple can existence itself is a not easy thing with withstanding the influence of natural and human factors.And what is unique about J village temple is this ancestral temple become radiant again after one hundred years of wind and rain,transform from "the production of the clan" into "national key cultural relics protection unit",and then strongly obtained the state power and financial support.The state funds and fully repairs the ancestral temple,which is a breakthrough in the history of ancestral temple and a manifestation of the new interaction and docking mode between clan and state since the tradition to the modern times.In this paper,the transformation of ancestral temple identity reflects the process of clan cultural change under the change of political,economic and cultural structure and relations.Especially after the ancestral temple became the "national protection unit",both the nation and the clan took the initiative to protect it.Such initiative just shows the changing dynamics and value trend of clan culture in the new era.The transformation of the ancestral temple identity of J village is a tortuous process with phased characteristics.In the traditional farming society,the high coupling between politics,economy and culture makes the clan culture always maintain a high influence on the rural society,and the ancestral temple,as the public property of the clan,has been supported by the clansmen.After the foundation of New China,under the ideology suppression and the influence of state system,clan culture became the object of suppression and criticism.Politics has highly controlled and penetrated into economy and culture,and ancestral temples have become feudal and backward under the impact of political movements.During this period,the lag of cultural change made the clan culture unable to adapt to the rapid change of political and economic structure,so the clan descendants protected the ancestral temple by making use of the influence of political identity through the creation of local knowledge,and the ancestral temple became a simple building used by the communist village society under the new regime.After the reform and opening up,the country restored the relationship between politics,economy and culture,and withdrew part of the political power,so that the development of economy and culture had their own vitality,and the clan culture had a revival based on the docking tradition and modern foundation.At the same time,Yang’s ancestral temple in J Village was included in the list of cultural relics units by the national cultural relics protection policy due to its cultural and artistic value,and the ancestral temple has since acquired an official identity.From "county protection" to "provincial protection",the protection of ancestral temples has not improved much under the circumstances of the limited financial capacity of local governments and the economic capacity of clans,and the connection between clans and the country is not profound.After entering the new century,the ancestral temple of J village was honored to be included in the "national key cultural relics protection unit" along with the other ten ancestral temples.This status means that the ancestral temple can be directly protected at the national level,and then enjoy the unprecedented treatment of fame and wealth.In such a situation,the clan culture has a more active adjustment to construct a harmonious internal and external relationship,to find their own positioning.Finally,thanks to the support from the central government,the protective repair work of the ancestral temple has achieved a smooth process and satisfactory result.It also stimulated and satisfied the sense of honor and pride of the Yang clan and strengthened the internal integration and identity of the clan culture.By transforming economic advantages into political discourse power,the state has realized the modern integration of cultural governance.In a word,the change of ancestral temple identity is the historical presentation under the practical action of each cultural subject in the process of "cultural protection".The
