Liuchao Xuanshi Dinglun(《六朝选诗定论》)is a critical work by Wu Qi in the early Qing Dynasty on more than 400"the poetry of Wenxuan(《“选诗”》)"in the Wenxuan(《文选》)compiled by Xiaotong of the Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty In this book, consisting of 18 volumes.Wu Qi provides a detailed explanation of each"the poetry of Wenxuan".Based on his general remarks on the independent criticism of"the poetry of Wenxuan"in Volume one and Volume two,as well as his specific conclusion on"the poetry of Wenxuan",first,we focus on observing Wu Qi’s main poetic concepts reflected in this book.Next is his theoretical criticism of different types of"the poetry of Wenxuan".Once again, his criticism of the commonality of the poetry of medieval poets. And its main methods and distinctive features in determining"the poetry of Wenxuan".On this basis, highlight the uniqueness of this book in historical"the poetry of Wenxuan"works and in ancient Chinese poetry criticism theory.According to the Epitaph written by Tang Bin for Wu Qi,Wu Qi was born in a literary family, and he was diligent, hard working, and wrote a lot. There is only one type of existing poetry treatise," The Origin of Liuchao Xuanshi Dinglun ".On the basis of Feng Ya spirit,Wu Qi fully affirmed the poetry of the Han Wei and Six Dynasties represented by "Wen Xuan" and made extremely detailed judgments. At the same time,Wu Qi fully reflected his own poetic concepts in the process of determining"poetry selection".Mainly including five aspects, namely, the"Three Times"view, the Confucian Classics view, the"Tongbian"view, the poetry historian, and the voice and rhythm view, emphasizing the differences and connections between them.Among them,Wu Qi initiated the concept of"San Ji"(“三际”),which is of great theoretical value.Viewing"poetry selection"from a typological perspective is also an important perspective for Wu Qi’s criticism of"the poetry of Wenxuan".The third chapter is a case study of Wu Qi’s determination of the main types of"the poetry of Wenxuan".For example,in his discussion of Shu xi’s"Bu Wang poetry",he explained"sheng poetry"through the study of lvlv(律吕)and astronomical calendar, providing a new perspective for future generations to study"sheng poetry".When criticizing the"nineteen ancient poems",he bluntly stated that these poems were elected at the end of the Han Dynasty and tied them under the theme of"The minister is not appreciated by the emperor"from the perspective of a group of poems.Wu Qi constructed his theoretical system for medieval imitative poetry from the perspectives of classification, evolutionary path, and artistic interests.Unlike Zhong Rong’s Shi Pin(“《诗品》”),which traces the origin of Ruan Ji’s"Yong huai Poetry"to Xiao Ya,Wu Qi bluntly states that Ruan Ji should come from Chu Ci(《楚辞》)in terms of the divine principles and patriotic sentiments contained in his works.Wu Qi’s criticism of Yuefu poetry also has its unique features, often starting from the integration of poetry and music to determine the advantages and disadvantages of Yuefu poetry recorded in"the poetry of Wenxuan".These types of"poetry selection"have the most distinctive characteristics of Wu Qi’s own poetry theory and have high theoretical value, running through his criticism of"the poetry of Wenxuan"throughout. In addition,Wu Qi is also adept at observing the commonalities in poetry creation, reflecting the similar emotions inherent in different poets. For example,One is the reflection of Tao Yuanming,Guo Pu and Liu Kun’s personality spirit in concrete works under the concept of"loyalty and indignation";The other is to emphasize the sense of helpless grief in the poems of poets represented by"Jian’an Qizi"and Xie Lingyun under the concept of"Shibuyu"(“士不遇”)Both of them show Wu Qi’s main intention to discuss poetry with human typology. Finally, the critical style of Wu Qi’s"the poetry of Wenxuan"can also be perceived from the Liuchao Xuanshi Dinglun, which includes three aspects:the main methods of discussing poetry, personalized expression, and overall style.Wu Qi’s method of poetry is mainly includes"Zhi Ren Lun Shi"(“知人论世”),"Yi Yi Ni Zhi"(“以意逆志”)and"mutual reference method",among which"mutual reference method"is Wu Qi’s theoretical summary of Mencius’poetry at that time.Compared to the personalized expression of"selecting poetry""the poetry of Wenxuan"in ancient Chinese works and critical forms such as poetry talks, anthologies, and commentaries,Wu Qi’s emphasis on poetry titles, comparison, word sentences, and tracing back to the source is a highly personal reflection of his unique characteristics when discussing the poetry of Wenxuan".At the same time, from the perspective of the overall effect of criticism,it shows the characteristics of strict logic, delicate, profound and broad knowledge, which are unique expressions of Wu Qi in ancient poetry criticism and have their unique critical value.
