A Study On The Cultural Semantics Of Russian Legal Term

Culture,language and law are all social phenomenon,with culture covering the widest range.Culture,in the broadest sense,encompasses all the achievements of human civilization and is the "background" for the development of law and language.Legal culture and legalitarian language are shaped by the interaction of culture,law and language.Legalitarian language is the carrier of legal culture,and legal culture is the basic environment for the formation of legalitarian language.Legal culture is the basis of legislative technique,on which legalitarian language depends,and the key to legalitarian language is legal terminology.A legal term is a precise reference to a legal concept.Legal concepts are inevitably influenced by linguistic culture and legal cultural factors in the process of formation,and the cultural component of legal terms record,reflect,and preserve the process as a concrete manifestation of the influence of culture on law.The research can enrich the theories related to the comparative study of legal terms and provide assistance to the translation and lexicography of Russian-Chinese legal terms.The theoretical basis of the paper is the results of cultural linguistics and legal-cultural studies in Russia and China.The paper provides an overview of the relationship between culture,language and law,legal concepts,definitions and terminology.The paper specifies the concepts of legal culture,legalitarian language,legal terms and the cultural component,tracing the origins of the Russian key legal terms право and закон in terms of both concept and etymology,describes the dynamic process of development of the Russian legal terminology system,its influencing factors and the process of semantic changes of the terminology from the terminological point of view,using the Truth of Russia as a corpus.Using six modern legal dictionaries of the Russian language as a corpus for independent construction,analyzes the composition of the legal terms право and закон in order to identify their cultural components-the unity and mutual exclusion of subjectivity and objectivity,compares the dictionary definitions of право,законодательство,закон with the Chinese legal terms 法,立法,法律 in order to identify the cultural component in the concept of Russian legal terminology.
