Doctor Dissertation A Study On Tea Culture In The View Of Song Dynasty Notes

"Tea" is one of the most distinctive traditional Chinese cultural symbols,has gone through a long history and cultural heritage.The Song Dynasty was an important period for the transition of Chinese tea culture from elite culture to mass culture.Since the Song Dynasty,tea has truly entered the daily life of the Chinese people,and formed into the folk customs of the masses.The tea culture in the Song Dynasty had a profound influence on the drinking style and aesthetic value of later generations.Among them,tea etiquette,tea customs and tea ceremony were the core contents of tea culture,and there were a lot of records in the ancient books.From the perspective of Song Dynasty notes,through the excavation of relevant historical materials,a more comprehensive and objective understanding of the tea culture of the Song Dynasty was obtained.Because of the authorship and social status of the notes,the daily life of the Song Dynasty can be described from different angles,and the content is more colorful than the historical books or catalogs.Although the tea culture of the Song Dynasty presented a form of elegance and common taste,the main force driving for the development of tea culture was still the literati.They gave the art and soul in tea.They were the leaders and inheritors of the spirit of the tea ceremony.Their behavior reminded the elegance and thoughtfulness for tea ceremony of the Song Dynasty,and reflected the spirit of "harmonious","simplified" and "leisure".The full text analyzes the tea culture from the perspective of Song Dynasty notes by five chapters.The first chapter searches,sorts and classifies the tea literature with 149 Notes among these books,and counts the cultural phenomenon of the tea in Song Dynasty notes by using bibliometrics,and sums up a total of 13 category for cultural phenomena of tea.There are several high frequency phenomena of tea culture,such as royal tea culture,literate tea culture,folk tea culture,the art of tea ceremony and it’s conception,and all categories of culture-loaded words etc.There will be detailed analysis and discussion in the following chapters.The second chapter classifies the characteristics behaviors with tea culture in different classes under the description of Song Dynasty notes.It compares the three different classes of royal,literate and folk,the conclusion is that the royal tea culture think highly of etiquette.The characteristics of the literati tea drinking is artistry,and the folk pay more attention to affection.The third chapter combs the essence of tea culture,"tea ceremony and it’s conception".It talks about the main characteristics and sources of "tea ceremony" in and before Song Dynasty,and conclude that the core concepts of the tea ceremony in Song Dynasty are "harmony","simplification"and "leisure".In view of the special stylistic forms and language styles in Song Dynasty notes,there are still many tea culture-loaded words in the wild,so in the fourth chapter,the author’s excavate deeply with the tea culture-loaded words in Song Dynasty notes.According to the classification of culture-loaded words by linguist Nida,which were divided into five categories:language,material,social,religious and folk,and ecological.The classification and explanation of these words provide the high value in custom,vocabulary materials,and the compilation of dictionaries in tea culture.The fifth chapter summarizes the social functions of the tea culture,such as interpersonal communication,psychological comfort,life education,folk cohesion and so on,as well as the significance and influence on the politics and economy of the Song Dynasty.The description of the tea activities in the Song Dynasty notes is unique and meticulous.The breadth and depth of the tea culture has more reference value than other genres of literature.Studying the tea culture with the views of the Song Dynasty notes will inevitably show the more colorful charm of Chinese culture.
