Lao Zi’s philosophy is an important part of Taoist philosophy,especially in Chinese philosophy.Category is one of the kernel problems in philosophical studies.The study of category is a kind of research method that study of every category which is reciprocal to another.The study of the category of relation is an important research method in philosophical studies.The point at which the Importance of Lao Zi’s philosophy and the necessity of the category of relation is the research on category of relations in Lao Zi’s philosophy.The main content of Lao Zi’s philosophy is "Dao" Thought.The "Dao" Thought includes two aspects:one is the "Dao" which was above shapes of the noumenon mind contrasted with which was within shapes of the noumenon mind;the other is the"Dao" that is a basis of the development of everything which can be called as values of the noumenon mind.The "Dao" is a category that mixed that which was above shapes of the noumenon mind and which was within shapes of the noumenon mind.The "Dao" which was above shapes of the noumenon mind can be categorized as "Wu-ming" and "You-ming".The "Wu-ming" is before the "Dao Sheng Yi"development stages and when The "Dao" begin to perform its functions it canbe called as "You-ming".So the "Dao" which was above shapes of the noumenon mind can be divided into three parts,they are theory of ontology,theory of identify with being and theory of substance and function.The "Dao" which was within shapes of the noumenon mind can be divided into four parts,they are hylozoism,the philosophy of life,the theory of cultivation and the spheres of living doctrine.Those categorys which were on the same level as the "Dao" are belong to the theory of ontology.This part includes "Dao" and "nonbeing","Dao" and "one","Dao"and "plain","Dao" and "imagery"."Dao" and "nonbeing" connote the unlimitedness of "Dao";"Dao" and "one" connote the inclusive of "Dao";"Dao" and "plain" connote the naturally characteristic of "Dao";"Dao" and "imagery" connote the morphological character of "Dao".Those four categorys can be used as "Dao" in Lao Zi’s philosophy and they can make the understanding of "Dao" more easy.Those categorys which were between the "Wu-ming"and "You-ming" are belong to the theory of identify with being.This part includes "Yin"and "Yang","movement" and "stillness","moderate" and "change","emptiness" and "filled"."Yin"and "Yang" connote the the basis and the motive power of the "Dao" begets all things of the world;"movement" and "stillness" connote the way that the "Dao" begets all things of the world and the "Dao" itself;"moderate" and "change" connote the"movement" and "stillness" of all the things of the world;"emptiness" and "filled"connote how the function of the "Dao" can be realized.Those four categorys connote the theory of identify with being.The categorys which relate the "Dao" in "You-ming" stage with all things of the world are belong to the theory of substance and function.This part includes "Dao"and "De","nonbeing" and "being","one" and "variety","plain" and "waref"."Dao"and "De" connote the completeness of "Dao";"nonbeing" and "being" connote the unlimitedness of "Dao";"one" and " variety" connote the inclusive of "Dao";"plain"and "waref" connote the naturality of "Dao".The substance of these four categorys is the ralation of "Dao" to all things of the world.The category of "Dao" can be used as the values of the noumenon mind except for the above shapes of the noumenon mind.The hylozoism part includes "mother"and "children";"quiet" and "dysphoria";"soft" and "firm";"revert" and "involution";"exist" and "death"."mother" and "children" connote the generation style;"quiet" and"dysphoria" connote the model of action in life;"soft" and "firm" connote the quality of life;"revert" and "involution" connote the cognition that all the vital movement would be turn towards "Dao";"exist"and "death" connote that the process of "exist"and "death" is a loop and we can surpass it.The categorys which focus on the life problem are belong to the the philosophy of life.This part includes "misfortune" and "fortune";"pamper" and "disgrace";"Obtained" and "lost";"intelligent" and "foolish";"consecration" and "dedication"."misfortune" and "fortune" connote the ponder of life circumstances;"pamper" and"disgrace" connote the negative of external fame;"Obtained" and "lost" connote the choose of accept or reject the external things;"intelligent" and "foolish" connote the cogitate of the wisdom of life;"consecration" and "dedication" connote the commend of the virtue of human nature.The study on these five categorys connote Lao Zi’s concern on life.The categorys which concern on self-cultivation culture are belong to the theory of cultivation.This part includes "empty yourself of everything" and "maintain a steady serenity";"contented" and "know where to stop";"non-action" and"action"."empty yourself of everything" and "maintain a steady serenity" connote the comprehension of the naturalness;"contented" and "know where to stop" connote the learn of prakrti;"non-action" and "action" connote the action of naturalness.Those three categorys explained how to realize the truth or philosophic theory from different angles.The categorys which concern on the realm significance of Lao Zi’s "Dao" are belong to the spheres of living doctrine.This part includes "Dao" and "naturalness","Dao" and "Xuantong"."Dao" and "naturalness" connote"Dao Follows the Way of Itself","Dao" and "Xuantong" connote "All in One".The two categorys constitute the spheres of living doctrine of "Dao".So we can draw two conclusions.First,The objective intent of Lao Zi’s philosophy is transcend the relative value.Second,there are three Chinese philosophy matters in Lao Zi’s philosophy,they are"unity of mind and nature","heaven and man","antiquity and modern".We can conclude from the conclusions that Lao Zi’s philosophy combined transcendence and actuality,and it has its unique cultural value.
