Macao Chinese refers to the Chinese written language with Macao unique characteristics in Macao area.In other words,Macao Chinese is the regional variety in Macao area of the written form of the common language of the Han.There are several kinds of language in Macao, including Chinese,English,Portuguese,Philippines,Cantonese,Min dialect,Hakka dialect and so on.Because of the complex language environment in Macao, differences in grammar arise between Macao Chinese and Mainland Chinese.Taking Contact Linguistics and Comparative Linguistics as the theoretical basis of research, based on the language facts,we use comparative analysis and quantitative analysis to study the differences in grammar between Macao Chinese and Mainland Chinese. The differences are mainly manifested in the following six aspects:l,The use of function words.2,The phrase combination.3,The special sentences.4,The reference markers.5,The word order.6,The discourse grammar.Every aspect is a separate chapter, thus six chapters are composed in this dissertation, namely Chapter 2 to Chapter 7.In addition,we also found that some other grammar differences, because they are relatively trivial, not easily to be classified,so they are introduced in the Chapter 8.Despite all these grammar differences between Macao Chinese and Mainland Chinese, these two kinds of Chinese have the homologous relationship and share a lot in common.Especially in recent years, the exchanges between Macao area and the Mainland are growing with each passing day,the language contact is very active, making the numbers of these grammar differences decrease and the convergence of Macao Chinese and Mainland Chinese become more significant.
