Along with the advancement of urbanization in China,the population and land scale of megacities expand.The spatial,economic and social problems caused by excessive agglomeration are becoming increasingly prominent,and the single-center spatial structure has become difficult to adapt to the needs of urban development.It is urgent for big cities to seek more efficient spatial organization methods to cope with the challenges of rapid urbanization.Polycentric spatial structure has gradually become the first choice for urban planning practice in China.In northeast China,Harbin,Shenyang and other old industrial bases are undergoing the process of industrial structure upgrading and urban space renewal,and have put forward higher requirements for the allocation of urban space resources.Under the background of urbanization and industrial structure reform,how to guide the healthy development of urban spatial structure,orderly link the development of urban spatial structure with the upgrading of industrial structure,urban spatial expansion and renewal,and help the efficient operation of the city has become an important issue for the development of Harbin and other old industrial bases.Harbin,an old industrial base city,was selected as the research object.The technical route of theoretical cognition-Feature Description-mechanism analys is-Performance Evaluation-mode selection-planning strategy was adopted,and the following six aspects of work were mainly completed.Firstly,the theory of polycentric spatial structure and the analys is of polycentric case domestic urban polycentric spatial structure development trend and planning practice,and summarizing the regular and universal expansion mode and spatial combination model of polycentric spatial structure In this paper.Secondly,the characteristics and development process of polycentric spatial structure are studied and judged.Based on the constituent elements of "point ","line" and "plane",combined with the structural system of space,economy and society,the characteristic system of "point " dimension city center agglomeration state,"line" dimension polycentric correlation state
