It is impossible and impractical to improve and promote the current weak foundation of work safety in the short run, which is the status quo in China. And the safety situation of mine production is a tricky problem, also a difficult issue until now.For this situation, miners’ behavior has gradually become the least reliable and certain factor. It’s well known that decreasing the frequency of unsafe behavior and maintaining the habit of safety behavior are extremely significant for improving safety performance in mine, unfortunately, which have gradually entered a bottleneck. This problem can be resolved by identifying the fundamental paths and measures of behavioral safety base on impairment and motivation process, which could be achieved by exploring the relationship between employees’ occupational psychology and their behavior in work, and thus the safety performance of mine production can be further improved. However, the research on dual path of impairment and motivation on mines’ behavioral safety is still in its infancy. There are barely studies which involve all the factors of predictive, occupational psychological and miners’ behavior outcomes, and exploring the interaction mechanism of dual path for mines’ behavioral safety. Also, the empirical investigations are lacking. Therefore,in the light of interdisciplinary theories of Safety-I and Safety-II in safety science,Dual Path in occupational health psychology, and on the basis of research paradigm of JD-R theory and its framework, firstly,a meta analysis was conducted to review the research of miners’ behavioral safety on the ground of empirical research. Then, dual path model of impairment and motivation on mines’ behavioral safety was developed under the current realities of mine production and characteristics of miners in China.Base on which, aiming at developing scales of the model factors, the job burnout, work engagement, safety compliance and safety participation which related to miners, were explored. Also, the scales that suit for miners were obtained.Third,a survey was conducted, and the available questionnaires were sufficiently gained by employing a cross-sectional research. On the basis of this, the dual path of mines’ behavioral safety was investigated, and the impairment process and motivation process of behavioral safety were explained, also the interaction mechanism. After that, probability analysis model for miners’ dual path management of behavioral safety was developed, and the management effectiveness of various measures were studies through simulation by employing this model, the key points for intervening miners’ behavior were obtained.Based on which, the mines were selected for case study of conducting dual path management of behavioral safety, which employing action design research and longitudinal research. Thus, the essential principles and an effective way were acquired for performing miners’ dual path management of behavioral safety.Furthermore, advice for conducting miners’ dual path management of behavioral safety in mining mining enterprises were proposed. The brief conclusions were listed as followed.(1)Based on the paradigm of “predictive factors-occupational psychological factors-behavior outcomes”,the miners’ behavioral safety could be explained by impairment and motivation process, that is dual path, which was reasonable and feasible and this was established by theoretical derivation. Also,it showed that the JD-R theory could be the ideal and scientific basis and framework for investigating interaction mechanism of mines’ behavioral safety.(2)When it comes to Chinese miners, their syndromes of job burnout could be explained by exhaustion, cynicism, and low professional efficacy, and their status of work engagement could be covered by dedication and absorption. As for their safety compliance behavior,it could be divided to deep and surface compliance. What is more, the safety participation behavior of miners could be further differentiate to autonomic and conformity participation, and this point was introduced by this work firstly, also,it was confirmed thoroughly.(3)The dual path mechanism related to mines’ behavioral safety were composed by twenty main interaction ways. And the dual path of behavioral safety could be explained by the interplay between impairment process and motivation process. Thus,it showed that the phenomenon of dual path related to mines’ behavioral safety was attested objective, general and widespread, and the topic of this work was testified reasonable and scientific, both of were established by empirical investigation.(4)It was effective and sustainable of the dual path management when it comes to miners’ behavioral safety. And for performing dual path management, the essential principles were acquired, which listed as managing miners’ demands and resources simultaneously, paying close attention to miners’ occupational psychological health and managing impairment and motivation factors comprehensively and systematically, and managing miners’ behavioral safety deeply. Also, the dual path management could be conducted by managing miners’ occupational psychological health, which was an effective approach. This proposed research could promote the understanding and comprehension of dual path interaction mechanism of impairment and motivation on mines’ behavioral safety scientifically, and perfect the investigation of the theory and management of behavioral safety which involving occupational psychological factors. Also, this research could provide scientific bases for putting forward intervention plan related to improving miners’ behavior, and contribute to the decrease of the frequency related to miners’ unsafe behavior and maintain their habit of safety behavior.
