Research On The Mechanism Of Green Entrepreneurial Orientation On The Performance Of New Enterprises

The process of global industrialization has caused many adverse effects on the environment.The increasingly serious environmental pollution,abnormal climate change,the reduction of biodiversity,the decline of environmental quality and the scarcity of energy frequently occur.China’s economy has developed rapidly since the reform and development,but in general,China’s economic development still faces some more prominent problems of environmental protection and sustainable development.Since 2005,China has begun to implement the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change,and has promoted all sectors of society to take a series of measures to strengthen ecological protection,reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable development.In the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,it was clearly proposed to implement the near-zero carbon emission demonstration project and establish a clean,low-carbon,safe and efficient energy system.At present,the COVID-19 has had an impact on China’s industrial chain.The "dual carbon" national strategy,economic development goals such as "circular economy" and "green development",transformation goals such as "intelligent manufacturing" and "supply side reform",and enabling tools such as "blockchain" and "metauniverse" have put forward higher requirements for enterprise development and entrepreneurial action,and also brought new development opportunities.More and more enterprises realize that enterprises must pay attention to environmental harmony while pursuing economic benefits,and should take effective measures to transform and develop from traditional economy to green economy from now on.The impact of entrepreneurship on the environment is two-sided.On the one hand,entrepreneurship can bring economic growth,increase employment rate,improve social welfare,improve living standards and promote social development;On the other hand,entrepreneurship may also cause environmental pollution,consume natural resources,destroy the ecological environment and affect the ecological balance.Therefore,many scholars and entrepreneurs have begun to pay attention to the potential of environment-friendly entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial opportunities brought by the dual-carbon goal.However,from the establishment of entrepreneurial vision to the formation of environmental awareness,from collective interpretation to behavioral practice,there are still many problems.There is still a decoupling between the formulation and implementation of green strategy.Although the research in the field of green entrepreneurial orientation has gradually been paid attention by scholars at home and abroad,and has laid a good theoretical foundation for this article,there are still some shortcomings: first,the research on green entrepreneurial orientation is still in the initial stage,The concept of green entrepreneurship orientation also lacks authoritative definition.Secondly,few scholars pay attention to the role of green entrepreneurial orientation in the performance of new enterprises,and the intermediary mechanism of the transformation process of sustainable performance of new enterprises is also insufficient.Finally,whether the green entrepreneurial orientation can effectively improve the performance of new enterprises,and what is the mechanism and boundary conditions of the green entrepreneurial orientation need to be further explored.Based on this,this paper clarifies the concept of green entrepreneurship orientation on the basis of research by scholars at home and abroad.From the perspective of vision interpretative behavior,it is based on entrepreneurial opportunity theory,entrepreneurial action theory,vision interpretative behavior theory,contingency theory,and integrates multi-disciplinary interdisciplinary theories such as social network,corporate culture,entrepreneurial risk,knowledge management,and follows the research framework of "visionary sensemaking-ability-behavior-result",Under the premise of fully considering the regulatory role of green transformation task characteristics,build a model of the impact of green entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of new enterprises,reveal the mechanism of green entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of new enterprises,explore the intermediary effect and chain intermediary effect of green absorptive capacity and green innovation in it,and further analyze the dynamic process of green entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of new enterprises,and uphold social responsibility for new enterprises,It provides theoretical and practical basis for achieving the coordinated development of environmental and economic benefits.Moreover,based on contingency theory and enterprise change theory,this study explores the contingency effect of green change characteristics on green absorptive capacity and green innovation,reveals the boundary conditions of green entrepreneurial orientation affecting green absorptive capacity and green innovation,and considers the reasons why different enterprises adhere to green entrepreneurial orientation but produce differentiated results,which increases the explanatory power of the model.This study takes the newly established enterprises within eight years as the research object,uses interviews and pre-research to revise and improve the scale,uses the questionnaire method to collect 476 valid data,tests the reliability,validity and homologous variance of the samples,and empirically tests the research hypothesis through regression analysis,Bootstrap analysis and other methods,and finally draws the following conclusions: first,Green entrepreneurial orientation has a significant positive impact on the performance of new enterprises.The environmental orientation,social orientation and profit orientation of green entrepreneurship orientation significantly positively affect the performance of new enterprises;Second,green absorptive capacity and its sub-dimensions,green innovation and its sub-dimensions play a partial intermediary role between green entrepreneurial orientation and new enterprise performance respectively;Thirdly,green absorptive capacity and green innovation play a chain intermediary role between green entrepreneurial orientation and new enterprise performance;Fourth,the characteristics of green change and its sub dimensions adjust the intermediary relationship between green entrepreneurial orientation and green absorptive capacity,while the characteristics of green change and the dimensions of cultural progressiveness and network interaction adjust the intermediary relationship between green entrepreneurial orientation and green innovation;Fifth,the characteristics of green change and its sub-dimensions positively regulate the intermediary effect of green absorptive capacity between green entrepreneurial orientation and new enterprise performance;Sixth,the characteristics of green change and its dimensions of cultural progressiveness and network interaction positively regulate the intermediary effect of green innovation between green entrepreneurship orientation and new enterprise performance.However,the regulatory role of risk innovation between green entrepreneurial orientation and green innovation is not significant,nor can it regulate the intermediary role of green innovation.This study has certain theoretical value and practical significance to explore the mechanism of green entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of new enterprises.In terms of theoretical significance:(1)Exploring the mechanism of green entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of new enterprises from the perspective of vision interpretation is conducive to enriching the application of entrepreneurial opportunity theory,entrepreneurial action theory,contingency theory in the field of green entrepreneurial orientation research,as well as the research on the effect of green entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of new enterprises in China;(2)The intermediary effect model of green absorptive capacity is constructed,and the important influence of green absorptive capacity in the mechanism of green entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of new enterprises is clarified,which is helpful to enrich the research perspective of green entrepreneurial orientation and provide theoretical guidance for improving the performance of new enterprises;(3)The chain intermediary effect model of green absorptive capacity and green innovation has been built,the theoretical research of green innovation has been deepened,and the deep relationship between the chain intermediary in green entrepreneurial orientation and new enterprise performance has been clarified.Moreover,by comparing and analyzing the multiple chain intermediary paths between green entrepreneurship orientation and green innovation,corporate financial performance and corporate growth performance,it provides theoretical reference for enterprises to choose the path of sustainable performance improvement;(4)Combining internal conditions and external environmental factors,based on contingency theory and enterprise change theory,explore the contingency effect of green change characteristics on green absorptive capacity and green innovation,reveal the boundary conditions of green entrepreneurial orientation affecting green absorptive capacity and green innovation,and reveal the reasons why different enterprises adhere to green entrepreneurial orientation but produce differentiated results.At the practical level,this study provides solutions for the harmonious development of China’s economy and environment,guides enterprises to focus on the improvement of green absorption capacity,and provides action guidance and theoretical reference for relevant interest groups such as industry,government,scientific research institutes and intermediary institutions.It is helpful to mobilize the enthusiasm of green innovation of enterprises,and provide the realization path for green production innovation and green process innovation of enterprises.The exploration of the contingency factors of the characteristics of green change will also help new enterprises to realize the dynamic matching of green entrepreneurial practices with the changes of the external environment,thus improving the green absorption capacity and green innovation level.
