Research On The Sources Of Comparative Advantage In Digital Trade

In recent years,with the rapid development of information and communication technology(ICT)and the wide popularization of Internet applications,digital trade is developing rapidly.Compared with traditional international trade,digital trade has changed a lot in terms of transaction object,transaction mode and production organization mode.Under the new situation,which countries have comparative advantages in developing digital trade? What is the source of its comparative advantage? How can a country improve this comparative advantage? Answering these questions is of great significance to understand the impact of digital trade on the international pattern and the strength changes of countries.However,there is little research on the comparative advantage of digital trade.In view of this,this paper will analyze the source of comparative advantage of Digital Trade and try to answer the above related questions.Based on the existing research results,this paper fully excavates the available value of different data sources,different types of data and different measurement indicators,and comprehensively uses qualitative analysis,quantitative analysis,comparative study,case discussion and other research methods to demonstrate the sources of comparative advantage of Digital Trade and the ways to enhance the comparative advantage of digital trade.The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly,the comparative advantage of digital trade comes from digital abundance,rather than the abundance of capital,technology and other factors.This means that even when a country's development level is relatively backward,it can have a comparative advantage in developing digital trade by improving data abundance.Its practical significance is to show that digital trade provides a great opportunity for China to realize "lane changing overtaking".Secondly,digital abundance is not formed naturally,which is affected by the development level of ICT industry,mobile network penetration,cross-border data flow restrictions,privacy protection and other factors;Among them,the development level of ICT industry and network penetration play a significant role in promoting the improvement of digital abundance;Restrictions on cross-border data flow are not conducive to the improvement of digital abundance;Appropriate privacy protection is of great significance to improve digital abundance.Thirdly,China's digital abundance is constantly improving,and the development of digital trade has gradually formed a certain comparative advantage;Among them,the development level of ICT industry and mobile network penetration are relatively good aspects,but there is still room for improvement in cross-border data flow restrictions and privacy protection.In the future,we also need to strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights and expand the opening of telecom service market.In terms of cross-border data flow,in addition to China's own efforts,it also needs to establish global rules;In addition to solving the obstacles of data flow itself,we should also solve other relevant factors restricting cross-border data flow,such as alleviating the "digital divide",enhancing the compatibility of privacy framework,promoting international regulatory cooperation and so on.
