| The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the overall requirement of ―developing a market-oriented system for technological innovation in which enterprises are the main players and synergy is created through the joint efforts of enterprises,universities,and research institutes.‖ The requirement has been included in the important content of further reforming the management system for science and technology,marking that the development idea of the Party and the country to transform collaborative innovation to in-depth industry-university-research integration has basically taken shape.In the process of building a great modern socialist country in an all-round way,the collaborative innovation is playing a key role in promoting scientific and technological self-reliance.Responding to the call of the times that efforts are being made to promote the in-depth integration of industry,university and research in China,this research is aimed at providing countermeasures and suggestions for the implementation of policies for the deep integration of collaborative innovation with multiple subjects and regions.This thesis reveals the influential mechanism of the diversity of collaborative innovation network members on binary corporate innovation performance by examining the mediating role of technological diversification and the moderating effect of network relationship embeddedness.The main contents include the following three aspects:(1)Relationship between the diversity of collaborative innovation network members on binary corporate innovation performance: the moderating effect of relationship embeddednessFirstly,based on the collaborative innovation theory and the triple helix innovation model,the diversity of collaborative innovation network members is defined and divided into two dimensions: subject diversity and region diversity.Secondly,this research explores the direct impact of the diversity of collaborative innovation network members on binary corporate innovation performance,and further examines the moderating role of relationship strength and stability in this regard.Then the related hypotheses are proposed.Finally,with those manufacturing-listed high-tech companies as the object,the research collects the data on invention patents and utility model patents and then measures such variables as diversity of collaborative innovation network members,relationship embeddedness and binary corporate innovation performance by means of using fixed-effect negative binomial regression model to perform empirical analysis and hypothesis testing.(2)Relationship between the diversity of collaborative innovation network members and technological diversification,and the same group comparison of their effectsThis thesis expounds the representation and essence of technological diversification,and makes an in-depth analysis of the direct impact of the diversity of collaborative innovation network members on technological diversification.Based on the perspective of comparative study,this thesis analyzes the ranking of the impact of four types of innovation subjects(university,institute,industry and government)on technological diversification,and that of the impact of innovation subjects inside and outside the region on technological diversification,and puts forward research hypotheses.Based on the collected data of patents made by manufacturing-listed high-tech companies,this research examines such variables as diversity of collaborative innovation network members,number of four types of innovation subjects,and number of innovation subjects inside and outside the region as well as corporate technological diversification.The Tobit model of fixed effect is selected for empirical analysis and hypothesis testing.(3)Impact of the diversity of collaborative innovation network member on binary corporate innovation performance: the mediating effect of technological diversificationThis thesis expounds the direct impact of technological diversification on binary corporate innovation performance and explores how the diversity of collaborative innovation network members exerts an impact on the binary corporate innovation performance through technological diversification.Then the relevant research hypotheses are proposed.Based on the collected data of patents made by manufacturing-listed high-tech companies,this research examines such variables as diversity of collaborative innovation network members,technological diversification and binary corporate innovation performance.The fixed-effect negative binomial regression model is adopted to conduct empirical analysis and hypothesis testing and the stepwise test method is employed to verify the mediating effect.The empirical test indicates that the diversity of collaborative innovation network members has a positive impact on binary corporate innovation performance.The relationship strength strengthens the positive impact of the subject diversity on the exploitative innovation performance of enterprises,but it doesn‘t play its moderating role in the relationship between the subject diversity and the exploratory innovation performance of enterprises.The relationship strength enhances the positive influence of the region diversity on the exploitative innovation performance of enterprises,but it weakens the positive correlation between the region diversity and the exploratory innovation performance of enterprises.The relationship stability strengthens the positive effect of the diversity of collaborative innovation network members the binary corporate innovation performance.The diversity of collaborative innovation network members has a positive impact on technological diversification.As the number of members increases,the ranking of the impact of four types of innovation subjects on technological diversification is as follows: university>institute>industry>government.And the ranking of the impact of innovation subjects inside and outside the region on technological diversification is as follows: outside>inside.Technological diversification,which has a positive impact on binary corporate innovation performance,plays a mediating role in the relationship between the diversity of collaborative innovation network members and binary corporate innovation performance.This research provides a theoretical basis for enterprises to optimize internal technological diversification through collaborative innovation networks,select suitable collaborative innovation partners to jointly achieve their innovation and development goals,and improve the efficiency of internal and external knowledge integration.In addition to practical guidance for enterprises to choose collaborative innovation partners,the results of this research can provide theoretical basis and realization path for high-tech enterprises to improve their innovation performance,and decision-making reference for government departments to promote the in-depth integration of industry,university and research.
