| Since the 21 st century, with the deepening of globalization and urbanization, regional space has been rapidly reconstructed,As the growth pole of regional economy, the rise of urban agglomerations has become a higher development form of spatial reconstruction. With the rapid development of urbanization and informatization in China, the internal spatial structure of urban agglomerations will usher in a new round of reconstruction. The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that my country has entered a new era of characteristic socialism, which is an era of high-quality development. As the main engine driving regional economic development, urban agglomerations are an important carrier for supporting regional high-quality development, while urban agglomerations in the eastern coastal area,as the strategic core area of the country’s economic and social development and an important carrier of the country’s new urbanization, have typical characteristics of high-quality development, and its high-quality development has become a frontier theme in the field of geographic research.Based on this, this subject conducts research on the spatial structure of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration from the perspective of high-quality development, hoping to provide a practical reference for optimizing the spatial structure of the urban agglomeration, provide a typical paradigm for achieving high-quality development, and provide a scientific basis for shaping the pattern of regional coordinated development. This topic takes the eastern coastal urban agglomerations of China as a case.Based on the literature on high-quality development and urban cluster spatial structure evolution,it is based on system theory, urban development stage theory, urban cluster spatial structure and other theories, based on high-quality development. From the perspective, taking the classic research paradigm in the urban system as the starting point, summarizing the evolution law of the hierarchical scale structure, functional structure, and contact network of the eastern coastal city agglomeration, exploring the relationship between the spatial structure of the urban agglomeration and high-quality development, and improving regional competitiveness and promote the high-quality development of urban agglomerations as the goal, and put forward countermeasures and suggestions suitable for the optimization of the spatial structure of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration. The full text revolves around the research ideas of "measurement of high-quality development→spatial structure identification→relationship between high-quality development and spatial structure→optimization countermeasures",and innovatively explores the relationship between high-quality development and the spatial structure of urban agglomerations. The main research content includes the following aspects.(1)The measurement of the high-quality development level of urban agglomerations along the eastern coast of China.Based on the perspective of five development concepts,an indicator system for the high-quality development of urban agglomerations is constructed, and the high-quality development of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration and its temporal and spatial evolution pattern are measured and analyzed by means of entropy method and natural breaking point classification method. The study found that the high-quality development level of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration from 2008 to 2018 showed a steady and fluctuating upward trend, and the high-quality development level of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration was in a leading position;the high-quality development of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration and the spatial-temporal evolution pattern of various dimensions were heterogeneous The urban agglomeration shows an unbalanced and uncoordinated pattern, and the development level of central cities in the eastern coastal urban agglomeration is relatively better than that of inland cities.(2)The evolution of the spatial structure of coastal urban agglomerations in eastern China. At the level of the evolution of the hierarchical scale structure, the urban primacy degree and the rank-scale rule are used to measure and analyze the two dimensions of population scale and economic scale respectively. In terms of population size, from 2008 to2018,the eastern coastal city cluster has formed a hierarchical scale system of 4 mega cities,2 megacities,33 large cities,31 medium-sized cities and 106 small cities.Among them, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration have a large number of small cities, while the medium-sized cities are underdeveloped;the super-large cities and mega-cities in the hierarchical sequence of the Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration and the Haixi urban agglomeration have faults, and the hierarchical scale structure deviates from the pyramidal distribution;the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration is complete Pyramid hierarchical scale structure. In the primacy of the eastern coastal urban agglomerations, except for the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration, which has a relatively balanced hierarchical scale structure, all other urban agglomerations have an imbalance in their hierarchical scale structure. In the eastern coastal city agglomeration, except for the Shandong Peninsula city agglomeration which tends to be concentrated and has a dual-center distribution, the rest of the urban agglomerations are scattered and obey a single-center distribution structure. At the level of economic scale, the economic concentration levels of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, and the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration are relatively large, and the urban economic hierarchy is relatively scattered, and the economic first city has a strong monopoly;the Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration and the sea The economic concentration of the western urban agglomeration is relatively balanced, and the urban economic scale distribution is relatively concentrated. In terms of the functional structure of urban agglomerations, the evolutionary characteristics of the functional structure of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration are reflected from the three aspects of functional scale, specialized departments, and functional intensity. The study found that manufacturing, construction, financial and real estate, and agency services are the basic functions of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration.Energy production and extraction, transportation, storage, post and telecommunications, commerce, social services, and science, education, culture, and health services are non-Basic functions, among which the manufacturing industry has become the sector that absorbs the most labor in the eastern coastal urban agglomerations. The basic and non-basic functions of the urban agglomerations have not changed much;the expansion of the function scale of the urban agglomerations is obvious, consistent with the national average, and the urban agglomerations are extremely large. The population attraction of megacities and central cities is strong, the scale of urban functions continues to expand, and the population of small and medium-sized cities is smaller;there are fewer specialized departments in the eastern coastal urban agglomerations, and the functional strength of each department is not high. The number of specialized departments with internal basic functions and non-basic functions has changed significantly. From the perspective of specific industry function intensity, the energy production and extractive industries, transportation, post and telecommunications and storage industries in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, the manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration, the construction industry and the financial and real estate industry in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration are respectively the eastern coastal urban agglomeration. In addition, commercial and social service industries are mainly located in central cities such as provincial capitals and municipalities in urban agglomerations;the functional strength of science, education, culture, health services, and agency services is generally weak.In terms of connection networks, the study found that the overall network density of the eastern coastal urban agglomerations was lower than the internal network density of each city cluster, and the differences in the contact networks between the city clusters are gradually shrinking, showing " Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomeration > Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration > Shandong Peninsula Urban Agglomeration > Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Urban Agglomeration > Haixi Urban Agglomeration ";the degree centrality value of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration continues to increase, and the high-value areas are mainly concentrated in the provincial capitals and municipalities within the urban agglomeration;the economic connection strength of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration is present Unbalanced spatial distribution characteristics;the agglomerated subgroups of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration gradually evolved from 4 second-level subgroups and 8third-level subgroups into 4 second-level subgroups and 7 third-level subgroups. The internal composition of subgroups at each level has changed greatly.(3)The relationship between the spatial structure and high-quality development of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration. In terms of the hierarchical scale structure and high-quality development of urban agglomerations,as the scale of cities continues to expand, the high-quality development index has also been increased accordingly. There is a clear gap between cities of different sizes in the eastern coastal urban agglomeration. The high-quality development index of megacities and megacities is much higher than that of large cities and small and medium-sized cities, and the gap continues to widen, but the gap between small and medium-sized cities is gradually narrowing.During the study period, the changes in the economic concentration of each city were relatively stable, which was basically consistent with the change trend of the high-quality development index. In terms of the functional structure and high-quality development of urban agglomerations, the gray correlation of the manufacturing industry has been in the first place in 2008 and 2018,becoming the main driving force for regional high-quality development, while the gray correlation of energy production and extractive industries has been at the bottom, hinders the high-quality development of the region. In terms of urban agglomeration connection network and high-quality development, according to the correlation analysis,it can be seen that the strength of external connections and high-quality development of the eastern coastal urban agglomeration have a significant high correlation at the level of confidence of 0.01,but the spatial correlation between the two is not. There are significant spatial differences, showing a high intensity of external relations—high high-quality development, low intensity of external relations—high high-quality development, low intensity of external relations—low high-quality development, medium intensity of external relations—medium high-quality development The spatial association relationship of a combination type.(4)Optimization of the spatial structure of the eastern coastal city clusters in China based on high-quality development.Clarify the evolution of the spatial structure of the eastern coastal city agglomeration, and based on high-quality development goals, put forward the optimization ideas of the spatial structure of the eastern coastal city agglomeration in China from the three aspects of urban agglomeration hierarchical scale structure, functional structure, and contact network.Put forward countermeasures to optimize the spatial structure of the eastern coastal city clusters in China. |
