A Study On "Civilizing People With Culture" In Ideological And Political Education Of College Students In The New Era

Culture,as the core of the nation,brings prosperity and harmony.To civilize people with culture has been an important way to promote education and social morality since ancient times.The Central Committee of CPC,at the core of Comrade Xi Jinping,based on the strategic perspective of realizing the great rejuvenation of China,promoted the construction of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics and the prosperity of socialist culture,and paid great attention to the use of cultural strength to carry out social education.To civilize people with culture had been addressed many times.In the speech at the National Conference on Ideological and political work in 2016,Xi Jinping put forward that strengthening and improving ideological and political work in colleges and universities should pay more attention to civilizing people with culture and aesthetics.In the National Education Conference of 2018,Xi Jinping further stressed that we should comprehensively strengthen and improve school aesthetic education and adhere to the aesthetic education of people and civilizing people with culture.To civilize people with culture was also written into the opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on strengthening and improving the ideological and political work in colleges and universities under the new situation,which was issued in December 2016.This thesis is based on this background to study ideological and political education of college students about civilizing people with culture in the new era and to explore how to use the power of culture to strengthen and improve ideological and political education of college students in the new era,so as to serve the strategic needs of cultivating the new generation who take on the responsibility of national rejuvenation.This thesis focuses on the issue of “To civilize people with culture in ideological and political education of college students in the new era”,and carries out research and discussion in accordance with the theoretical logic of “what is”,“why”,“use what” and “how” to civilize people with culture.The thesis consists of seven parts:Chapter one expounds that “what” is civilizing people with culture in ideological and political education of college students in the new era and “why” it is on the rise.To civilize people with culture in ideological and political education of college students in the new era means educators consciously exert the subtle influence of excellent culture on college students,and make them have a positive change in ideological level,political awareness,moral quality and cultural quality.It is special in desalinating the traces of education,so as to achieve the educational effect of “dripping water wears through a stone”.This new topic is increasingly concerned with the development of cultural diversity in the world,the growing influence of cultural forces in China,and the improvement of ideological and political education of college students.Under the attention and guidance of the Party and the country,it is gradually changing from the spontaneous existence to the rational consciousness.Its rational consciousness development aims to meet the spiritual and cultural needs,cultural literacy needs as well as cultural self-confidence and self-cultivation needs of college students in the new era.Chapter two summarizes the new requirements of ideological and political education of college students in the new era.To promote ideological and political education of college students in the new era with the rational and conscious development of civilizing people with culture,the new requirements of the times need to be grasped.Based on the “activity process”,this thesis focuses on the core elements of ideological and political education of college students in the new era,which is the practice and operation of civilizing people with culture.It generally expounds three aspects of the new requirements,namely,grasping the new goal,clarifying the “culture”of “civilizing people”,and grasping the “civilizing” of “civilizing people”.The new goal is to cultivate young people with firm ideals and beliefs,solid abilities and a strong sense of responsibility.The “culture” of “civilizing people” mainly includes three kinds of excellent cultures with different characteristics,strengths and positions,namely,based on the excellent traditional Chinese culture,focusing on the Chinese revolutionary culture,and focusing on the advanced socialist culture.As a whole,the principle of the “civilizing” of “civilizing people” should be to keep up with the new ideas of the times,to keep close to people and to grasp the practical cooperation.Chapter three specifically analyzes nourishing college students in the new era with Chinese traditional culture.As the basic “culture” of “civilizing people”,Chinese traditional culture can play the role of consolidating the foundation in the constant“nourishment” of college students in the new era with its characteristics,so as to cultivate the new generation worthy of the title of the future generations of the Chinese nation and able to inherit the profound cultural background in the cultivation of national genes and self-confidence.“Nourishing” college students in the new era with Chinese traditional culture requires grasping the inner essence of Chinese traditional culture,so as to inspire wisdom with the essence of thought,cultivate virtue with traditional virtues and nourish the mind with humanistic spirit.It also requires grasping typical forms of the culture in the light of college students in the new era which are bases of“nourishing”,such as ancient books,traditional etiquette and ancient cultural relics.Chapter four analyzes cultivating college students in the new era with Chinese revolutionary culture.Chinese revolutionary culture,as the key “culture” of “civilizing people”,can constantly “cultivate” college students in the new era with its characteristics,so as to not only help college students to expel the dross of thought and supplement the essence of spirit,but also help them to better shape the spirit “physique”of national rejuvenation in the process of strengthening their spirit,and also help college students to better inherit and develop the revolutionary culture.To “cultivate” college students in the new era with Chinese revolutionary culture requires seizing the essence of Chinese revolutionary culture,so as to activate the red gene with the “red” core,boost the spiritual state with the “revolutionary” characteristics,and guide the best soul with the “lofty” character.It also needs to combine with the actual situation of college students to promote the main content of the culture,and then make college students have a baptism with the revolutionary history,as well as encourage college students with revolutionary spirit and infect them with revolutionary morality.Chapter five analyzes leading college students in the new era with advanced socialist culture.Advanced socialist culture,as the critical “culture” of “civilizing people”,can “lead” college students in the new era with its characteristics,which is not only conducive to dealing with the realistic impact of backward reactionary culture,to cultivating the advanced genes of the new generation in the era,but also stimulating the cooperation and endeavor of college students.Benefitting from cohering wish and casting soul,college students will grow into the new generation in line with the society in need.“Leading” college students in the new era with advanced socialist culture requires grasping the core content of advanced socialist culture,so as to guide the direction with the guiding ideology of Marxism,to gather strength with lofty ideals and common ideals,to promote the spiritual realm with the spirit of contemporary China,and to lay a solid moral foundation with the concept of socialist honor and disgrace.At the same time,it also needs to grasp the key representation combining with the reality of college students,which can promote the realization of “leading”.So that we can arm college students with scientific theory,guide them with correct public opinion,inspire them with excellent works and shape them with good fashion.Chapter six elaborates the new act of civilizing people with culture in the implementation of ideological and political education of college students in the new era.The new act is mainly embodied in making good use of the essential tools of the times,grasping the main positions,holding the important forms and building up the basic guarantee.First of all,the humanization function of micro-culture and media should be given full play;second,civilizing people with culture should be implemented in the two main positions of university campus and Internet;third,the effective implementation of the two important forms of cultural propaganda and peer assimilation should be promoted.Finally,the main body and ecological construction,the two basic aspects of the construction of civilizing people with culture,should be grasped and solid.In these methods,the “culture” of “civilizing people” can be integrated and permeated into the daily life of college students in the new era,and nourish the spirit and purify the soul in the continuous,extensive and in-depth excellent cultural contact.
