Since the reform and opening-up,under the overall background of the rapid differentiation of knowledge and the emergence of emerging disciplines,Chinese educational administration has gradually become mature and professional.A series of systematic and theoretical review and reflection on the existing research of the discipline based on the complicated research results of more than forty years,will not only help clarify the historical context of the development of the discipline,but also help to accurately grasp the internal logical structure of the discipline,which is an indispensable basic research work in the discipline construction.However,the existing research on the overall examination of the subject is mostly the review and prospect of the subjective perspective of scholars based on their own knowledge accumulation,or in a sub-discipline and specific research field,such research lacks a panoramic view,Dimensions and long-term systematic review,so the true appearance and objective dynamic rule of the subject development from the complicated information could not be easily understood.There is an urgent need to introduce new research paradigm to improve relevant research.Mapping knowledge domain,as a knowledge management tool reflecting the development process of scientific knowledge and structural relationship,can effectively overcome the above deficiencies.Through the meticulous data mining and analysis of massive and complex information,the dynamic evolution of the subject could be revealed,the dynamic mechanism of the discipline development could be explored,and the lack and weakness in the discipline development could be discovered.There will be great academic significance and practical value for broadening the breadth and promoting the depth of research.In view of this,this study attempts to apply the knowledge mapping method to the research of the development of Chinese educational administration disciplines,with the discipline attribution,discipline penetration and subject value as the research basis,to face the complex nature of discipline development and adapt to the interdisciplinary development trend.Through the construction of three-dimensional matrix(with subject support,subject evolution,knowledge flow,discipline structure as the purpose of dimension,with various types of knowledge units as the object dimension,with scientometric analysis method such as statistical analysis,citation analysis,co-citation analysis,cluster analysis,etc.as the method dimension).38,162 articles of Chinese educational administration in CNKI from 1979 to 2018 are transformed into a series of knowledge maps,in order to reveal the similarity and inheritance of the subject structure in a deeper level.The specific research process and conclusions are as follows:(1)From the perspective of “subject support”,the source of power and basic conditions for the evolution and development of the discipline are presented from the perspectives of manpower,material resources and financial resources.Generally speaking,the discipline is still in the stage of growth,and the internal and external conditions of the subject development are generally better.Colleges and universities lead the development of the discipline,but the gap between the rich and the poor is large.In addition,the research results are distributed in 829 different journals,involving 14 disciplines such as education,sociology,economics,and management,showing strong interdisciplinary and broad fields.(2)From the perspective of “development track”,there are strong and weak relationships among the 50351 keywords involved in the above-mentioned literature samples.By co-occurring analysis and cluster analysis on these keywords,the relationship between subject knowledge structures is unearthed.On the whole,after 40 years of development,the discipline has formed a clearer category system,and the overall theme of “core-derived-edge” is presented.The phased analysis shows that there is an obvious "policy dependence" in the replacement of new and old topics in the process of academic evolution.Compared with the prosperous application research,the basic research volume is less and lower,and the longitudinal coherence is insufficient.(3)From the perspective of “knowledge linkage”,grasp the frontiers of discipline research by detecting emergent words.The research field with the characteristics of the times in the subject research is the positive response of the discipline development to the changes of the times and social development.Based on the analysis of the theme evolution,in high-profile areas of high concern,it is easy to gather collective wisdom to create new knowledge and lead the development direction of the discipline.Based on the citation analysis of 144,618 references in 38,162 literature samples,the results show that the foundational literature that nourishing the discipline development is lacking in the early stage of the discipline development.This is related to the lack of normative academic research in the early stage.Research pays more attention to reality and practicality at that time,and academic accumulation is weak in continuity and system.(4)From the perspective of “discipline structure”,the social network analysis method is used to investigate the “explicit network” and “implicit network” jointly formed by the author cooperation and the author co-citation.On the whole,the explicit network density is low,and the academic links between “authoritative scholars” are not close.The “teacher-student type” and “colleague type” are the main ways of cooperation.The degree of faction in the network is not high,and the overall research cooperative network is still in the initial stage to be optimized.The "implicit network" based on the co-citation of the core authors can be divided into 10 academic groups according to the research field.The research on cross-domain characteristics is obvious,but it does not have obvious school effect.On the whole,the network connectivity is good,the information transmission is fast,typical “small world” effect and "academic star" phenomenon can be observed.(5)Combined with the above analysis,the research summarizes the paradigm characteristics of the development of Chinese educational administration discipline based on the perspective of knowledge map,and reflect the practical problems existing in the subject research.From levels such as constructing a balanced educational administration discipline system,creating a localized educational administration academic pattern,and perfecting the institutionalization of educational administration disciplines,etc.A series of suggestions were put forward for purpose of improving the study of educational administration in China.The study traces and summarizes the 40 years of China's educational administration research through macro-generalization,meso-analysis and microscanning.The study makes a prospect in combination with the characteristics of the discipline development paradigm,objectively presents the overall picture,development situation and structural characteristics of the discipline,and the study also lays the foundation for follow-up research to grasp the research focus,capture the research frontier,and standardize the discipline layout.On the basis of the existing research results,it is necessary to further expand the basic data in the future,expand the source range of the literature samples,absorb academic works and dissertations.It is also necessary to increase the horizontal comparison of Chinese and foreign educational administration studies to objectively evaluate the status,advantages and gaps of Chinese educational administration in the international academic field.In addition,for the purpose of improve the research,it is necessary to enrich the research content,and incorporate the knowledge structure and research orientation of the subject research members into the key investigation scope of the discipline construction.
