Marx’s Ideology Theory And Its Contemporary Value From The Perspective Of Political Philosophy

In the tradition of western political philosophy,ideology is an important issue closely related to the nature of human rationality.Western political philosophy reflects on the form of community and its intrinsic value in terms of "necessity" and "legitimacy",and endows ideology with extremely complex connotation of political philosophy in the tension between truth and opinion,theory and practice,individual and society.The historical materialism and political economy critique created by Marx have achieved a great change in the history of Western political philosophy.This revolution takes the banner of criticizing capitalism,reflecting on modernity,and promising the emancipation of all mankind,and brings modern ideological issues into a brand-new ideological interface and a brand-new political and philosophical understanding of ideology.However,in the past,people paid more attention to the epistemological connotation of Marx’s ideological theory and the later political theories derived from ideological analysis.They rarely highlighted the political philosophy dimension of Marx’s understanding of ideological issues.Therefore,on the basis of historical materialism and criticism of political economy,this paper will further open up the political philosophy vision of Marx’s ideological theory and its contemporary value.In Marx’s view,the understanding of the issue of ideology should be examined in the context of social history.Whether it was the ontological questioning of ideological issues in classical political philosophy,the epistemological reflection on ideological issues in enlightenment philosophy,or the creative synthesis of ideological issues in German classical philosophy,they were only constructing a way to resolve personal and social contradictions,but failed to give the development of the social justice ideal with the foundations of the social history,which has covered the social power structure of people’s deep oppression.In his political reflection on traditional ideological theories,Marx deeply realized that "It is not consciousness that determines life,but life determines consciousness." All the revelation of ideology must seek the key in the actual material life relationship.Specifically,Marx uses three interpretations of "false consciousness","ideological superstructure" and "class consciousness" to give the concept of ideology the three-dimensional connotations of "negativity","generality" and "constructiveness",and based on the principle of practice,ideological issues are pulled back from the realm of ideas to the real world,in the dialectical relationship between political ideals and political reality,the tension and mutual construction of multiple theoretical characteristics such as metaphysics and reality,critical and constructive,and political and scientific are realized.On the basis of the new world outlook,Marx’s ideological theory shows a very distinct political appeal.According to Marx’s political consideration of capitalist society,the essence of capitalism is the rule of the few.In order to satisfy its own selfish needs and special interests,the bourgeoisie will inevitably take falsehood and deception as prerequisites in the ideological control of political society.Therefore,Marx proposed that the criticism of ideology should not be limited to the criticism of the abstract concept itself,but should go deep into the internal operation of the capitalist society,reveal the social and economic relations behind the "abstract rule of ideas",and then highlight the oppression and ideological control of capitalism on the modern working class.Based on this,to reawaken the liberation mission of the proletariat,we need to elevate the class consciousness of the proletariat from the level of freedom to the level of self-consciousness,so that the proletariat can be transformed into the practice subject of human liberation,and finally realize "the free development for everyone".In the contemporary context,scholars such as Raymond Aron,Marcuse,Habermas,and Laclau question and condemn Marx’s ideological theory from different angles,trying to reform,modify or subvert Marx’s ideological theory.But from a general point of view,western scholars for interpretation of Marx’s theory of ideology,or class struggle as the theme of desalination,focusing on the academic understanding of ideological issues,,lack of practice of revolution in the sense of due care,and show some conservative,or to solidify and critical perspective of static analysis,or is it still failed to get rid of the traditional dualistic thinking mode,which has caused a lack of overall understanding of Marx’s ideological theory.In addition,the misreading and negation of Marx’s ideological theory by western scholars not only cannot prove that Marx’s ideological theory itself is out of date,but also proves the strong vitality of Marx’s ideological theory in contemporary society.In the face of the misinterpretation and challenge of Marx’s ideological theory by Western scholars,we must not only reinterpret Marx’s ideological theory in the overall sense,but also promote the practical,contemporary,modernization,sinicization process of Marx’s ideological theory in concrete ideological construction,respond with objectively generated historical facts and demonstrate the scientific quality of Marx’s ideological theory.According to the new changes and features of capitalism and its ideology in the contemporary society,we will reveal the latest development trends such as the infiltration of ideology into economy,politics and culture,and the daily and intelligent development of ideology in the information age of globalization.On the one hand,it deepens the criticism of contemporary capitalism and its ideology,and on the other hand,it provides ideological preparation for the construction of socialist ideology and the construction of human social political civilization.Only in this way can the contemporary political significance of Marx’s ideological theory be revealed.
