This thesis takes Georgian composer Giya Kancheli’s three works--the Symphony No.3,Symphony No.5,Symphony No.7,of the Georgian composer Giya Kancheli as research objects.It is a systematic analysis of the characteristics of creation and composition techniques combining latest thesises domesticly and abroad.It intends to summarizea the characteristics of Giya Kancheli’s personal style in symphony creation.By exploring the reason for the formation of its unique musical style,the establishment of composition techniques,expression forms,and comparing the similarities and differences between Kencheli and other composers’ works,come up with a conclusion of Kencheli’s musical style,the cultural influence of her works.The first chapter of this paper discusses the study and life experience of Giya Kancheli,the general situation of his creation in three different periods,and the influence of political environment,religious spirit,folk music and film music on the formation of his creation concept,and the general situation of the creation of the three symphonies.The second chapter analyzes the musical material construction of the three symphonies,including the musical theme and its development,the tonality of mode and the characteristics of harmony,the dynamics and its relationship with other musical elements.The third chapter analyzes the orchestration of the three symphonies,including the use of variant instruments,the usage of color instruments to the personalized design of the orchestra’s timbre,as well as a variety of different forms of the sound,and the use of sound-colour-melody and other specific orchestration layout.The fourth chapter analyzes the structural characteristics of the three symphonies.They all have the structural commonalities of the external structure of a single movement and the internal structure of fragments.The overall musical structure is closely related to the musical elements such as materials,dynamics,tonality and so on,and also makes the works present the characteristics of“Multiple structures”.Kancheli’s works are considered as "Holy Minimalise" by the academic circle.Therefore,chapter fifth analyzes the ideological connotation of Kancheli’s symphonies and the similarities and differences between his works and the other composers.In order to find the most fundamental cultural origin and aesthetic connotation of Kancheli’s works,this paper makes a horizontal comparison of the works of "divine minimalism" representative composers such as Arvo Part,Henryk Gorecki,John Taverner,Gubaidulina and Pēteris Vasks.
