The special listed candidates was a special part of the scholars in Song Dynasty,More than 300 years of history of Song Dynasty,accompanied by domestic and foreign troubles,society displayed a distinct characteristics in all aspects.In the political aspect,at the beginning of the founding of the kingdom,in view of the lessons of the collapse of the previous dynasty,the song government carried out the policy of attaching importance to civil affairs while neglecting military affairs,and the imperial examination system was further developed.In the process of the development of the system,the examination system of the special listed was formed,and the scholars who passed the examination were given official rank according to their grades,thus forming the group of the special listed candidates.Due to the incomplete preservation of the historical data of the group of the special listed candidates,most of them have no traces to be traced,there were about51,193 special listed candidates.The group of special listed candidates was huge,and they all had a place in the history of imperial examination in ancient China.Although most of them have the opportunity to enter the official career,but they just had lower positions,less authority,promotion opportunities less than the listed candidates.Due to the low administrative starting point of the group of special celebrities,it has not been taken seriously.But in fact,the social influence of the group of the special listed candidates can not be underestimated.They were scattered all over the Society of the Song Dynasty,and their spatial distribution was characterized by the imbalance between the north and the south.Regional concentration is remarkable characteristics of the group.The social contributions of the group of special listed candidates were mainly embodied in administration,education,ideology and culture,moral demonstration,writing books and so on.After collating,exploring and analyzing the biographies of the special figures,it was found that when they were living in seclusion in the countryside,they were concerned about local administrative affairs and participated in local management;some were concerned about the current situation and presented a memorial to the government;while they were in administrative positions,although the official rank is low,but they were none fulfil theirs duties,and had achievement,wins the local common people’s love and the government approval.When they were stranded in the countryside,some of them took classes and taught students.Some had hundreds of students.After passing the examination,many were awarded the professorship,so to the local education,training personnel contribute more.Many of the students passed the civil examination,and some of them were even the top one.The special listed candidates wrote books in their life.Some books has been around ever since,which are indispensable historical materials for the study of the Song Dynasty.At the same time,they inculcate the public with their own words and deeds and ways of doing things.The Group of special listed candidates not only promoted the development of the Song Dynasty in politics,economy,ideology and culture,but also their spirit,quality,deeds,works,words and deeds are still shining and enlightening the posterity.
