Research On New Performing Arts Space Of Shanghai

In recent years,with the diversification of performance art expression methods and the new development trend of the performing arts industry,a number of diversified new performing arts spaces have emerged in Shanghai.They are diverse in types and have their own characteristics,injecting new vitality into Shanghai's theatre industry.At the end of 2017,with the promulgation and implementation of a series of policy documents such as "Several Opinions on Accelerating the Innovative Development of Cultural and Creative Industries in this Municipality",the concept of "New Performing Arts Space" was formally put forward and began to receive eager attention from the industry and academia.However,practice tends to be ahead of theory.At present,domestic research on new performing arts spaces has just begun,and research results are still very scarce.Therefore,it is urgent to conduct a more systematic analysis of the "new performing arts space",a frontier hot topic in the theater industry and the performing arts industry,so as to serve as a reference for understanding and practice.This dissertation uses Marxist "art production" theory and Lefebvre's "space production" theory as the research framework,and combines literature analysis and field investigations to research methods,focusing on the generation background,conceptual connotation,type and location characteristics,market operation mode,development value of Shanghai's new performing arts space.First of all,the dissertation analyzes the macro social background and driving factors of the generation and development of the new performing arts space.This dissertation considers that the new trend of performing arts industry development;The appeal of preserving the historical context of the city;The upgrading of residents' art consumption,a series of supportive policies issued by Shanghai to build itself into the "Asian Performing Arts Capital" and the performance practice of contemporary "special venue theatre" jointly promote the birth and development of new performing arts space in Shanghai.Secondly,this dissertation discusses and defines the concept of the new performing arts space.Based on comparing it with similar phenomena in the world,it is proposed that the new performing arts space is a new concept generated in the Chinese social context,and its "new" features,Which is mainly reflected in the three aspects of the physical attributes,use functions and operation modes of the place;then analyzes the philosophical basis of the urban performing arts space,pointing out that it is not only a physical space occupied by performances,but also a cultural and artistic space and a symbolic space with symbolic and special semantics,and from this,under the perspective of "space production" theory,it focuses on the analysis of the generation logic of Shanghai's new performing arts space.Thirdly,this dissertation categorizes the formed new performing arts space based on the construction method of space,according to the four types of reconstruction of historical buildings,integration into commercial space,integration of public cultural space and relying on outdoor public space,combined with excellent cases for each category the construction method,operability,advantages and disadvantages of the performing arts space are explained,and the location characteristics of the new performing arts space are summarized as the complexity of the space style and the diversification of the viewing relationship,the integration with the living space and the complex use of functions.Fourthly,this dissertation uses more than 60 new performing arts spaces in Shanghai as a survey sample.From the perspective of theater management,this dissertation examines the current operations of the new performing arts spaces around related issues such as location selection,theatre scale,business content,operating methods,and business strategies.Mode and summarize the new characteristics it presents compared with traditional performing arts spaces.Finally,based on the above analysis,this dissertation reviews the new performing arts space from the perspective of development value.From the perspective of artistic creation,the venue characteristics of the new performing arts space break the closedness of traditional theatre spaces and provide a diversified display and communication vehicle for performing arts.From the perspective of industrial development,the new performing arts space will help to quickly fill the theater quantity,improve the urban performing arts space structure,and accelerate the realization of the "combination of theatres and groups" operation mechanism,thereby contributing to the construction of Shanghai's "Asian Performing Arts Capital".From the perspective of social and public benefits,the new performing arts space has the typical characteristics of "the third place" and "urban living room",and can provide people living in big cities with a place to release themselves,relieve pressure,and inhabit the soul.
