Under the theoretical framework of corpus translation theories, this study made a comparative study of the Chinese and Japanese versions of Report on the Work of the Government from 2004 to 2018 by building a special corpus and using a variety of research methods, such as empirical research, introspection, literature review, and comparison, which are represented by corpus and questionnaire. This study focuses on the linguistic features of translation, namely, the linguistic characteristics of the source text and the translated text,as the main content of corpus translatology. The linguistic features of the Japanese version of the Report on the Work of the Government are discussed through the lexical features, syntactic features, collocation and semantic rhyme of the translated language. The linguistic features of Japanese translation of Report on the Work of the Government are reflected in two aspects: the general features of vocabulary and the features of vocabulary application. The research shows that,as the concrete expression of the general characteristics of vocabulary, compared with the reference corpus constructed by the Japanese texts with similar text types as the source, the ratio of sememes to morphemes and the value of lexical density of Japanese translated vocabulary are higher, reflecting the great variability of Japanese translated vocabulary in the report and the relatively complex application of vocabulary.Compared with the reference corpus, the average distribution of the number of times of Japanese translated words is lower, reflecting the diversity of vocabulary changes. The first 20high-frequency words in the source text and the target text generally have more corresponding relations, possessing similar frequency, and there is flexible conversion of parts of speech, indicating that the target words effectively transmit the original information. The characteristics of vocabulary application are embodied in the influence of the original text.Japanese translation vocabulary contains some typical expression structures such as abbreviations, metaphors, and peculiarities, which have similar common characteristics. The study further explores the typical features of Japanese numeral abbreviation structure in the Japanese translation.Taking translation methods as the starting point,it classifies the Japanese numeral abbreviation vocabulary and discusses the features of Japanese translation of various numeral abbreviations, and puts forward normative Japanese translation methods for some categories. The overall study on the features of Japanese translation of government work reports shows that the Japanese translation of the report shows the common characteristics of “visualization”and “simplification”.It can be summarized as “semantic visualization” and “formal simplification”.“Semantic visualization”can be divided into two categories: referential semantic visualization and functional semantic visualization. The “form simplification”can be divided into two parts: the form simplification of concept continuity and the form simplification of concept composition. The syntactic features of the Japanese translation of the Report on the Work of the Government are shown in two aspects: the overall syntactic features embodied in the average sentence length and the typical sentence structure application features embodied in the verb conjunction clause. The research shows that in terms of the overall syntactic characteristics, the average sentence length of the translated text of the government work report is similar to that of the Japanese reference corpus, which has similar syntactic characteristics. The expression of the translated text of the government work report conforms to the expression habits of the Japanese native language, and can play a good reading effect for the audience. In terms of the application characteristics of typical sentence structure, the structure of the verb conjunction clause conforms to the characteristics of Japanese language, which can convey the logical relationship information contained in the text clause of the government work report type. The study shows that the syntax of the translation of the Report on the Work of the Government presents the common feature of “normalization”.This study takes the substantive verb “insist” and its Japanese notional verb “kenji”in the Report on the Work of the Government as an example. The research data show that the two words and their collocation words form different co-selection patterns in the corresponding corpus, and the phrase sequence formed by the two words respectively overlaps in form, meaning and function, but the differences are obvious, pointing to different semantic rhymes. The use of Chinese and Japanese phrases has their own characteristics of form and meaning, and the function should be taken as a criterion in the translation of CPC literature. On the basis of the summary of the study, this study puts forward the countermeasures for establishing the translation standard system of CPC literature and the prospects for the future research.
