This dissertation takes all the Mass music works composed by Franz Joseph Haydn throughout his life as the research object.Through literature research and music analysis,comprehensive and systematic induction and summary to demonstrate that Haydn?s Mass work is an integral masterpiece of Baroque and Viennese classical music style.According to the time of the mass works,it is divided into two parts.In the first part,the early eight mass music works composed by Haydn between1749 and 1782.According to the order of time,they are Missa brevis,F-Dur(Hoboken XXII: l),Missa Rorate coeli desuper,G-Dur(XXII: 3),Missa Cellensis in honorem B.V.M.,C-Dur,?C?cilienmesse“(XXII: 5),Missa Sunt bona mixta malis,d-moll,Fragment(XXII: 2),Missa in honorem B.V.M.,Es-Dur,?Gro?e Orgel(solo)messe“(XXII: 4),Missa Sancti Nicolai,G-Dur,?Nikolaimesse“,(XXII:6),Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo,B-Dur,?Kleine Orgel(solo)messe“(XXII: 7),Missa Cellensis,C-Dur,?Mariazellermesse“(XXII: 8).In the second part,the late six mass music works composed between 1796 and 1802.They are Missa in tempore belli,C-Dur,?Paukenmesse“(XXII: 9),Missa Sancti Bernardi von Offida,B-Dur,?Heiligmesse“(XXII: 10),Missa(Missa in angustiis),d-moll,?Nelsonmesse“(XXII:11),Missa,B-Dur,?Theresienmesse“(XXII: 12),Missa,B-Dur,?Sch?pfungsmesse“(XXII: 13),Missa,B-Dur,?Harmoniemesse“(XXII: 14).The dissertation analyzes and summarizes the manuscript,composition time,and complex background,features of the work,historical performance and other aspects of the work.It aims to illustrate the evolution of Haydn’s masses formal characteristics and composition style,and reveal the characteristics of the Viennese classical masses.
