This article researches on Japanese history education since Meiji.The main content is divided into three parts.The first is to review the history of Japanese history education since Meiji.The second is to explore the current attitudes of Japanese history education on several issues through the interpretation of current Japanese history textbooks.The third is to evaluate and forecast the development of Japanese history education from a policy perspective.In addition to the introduction and the conclusion,the article is divided into three parts with 13 chapters.The first part mainly sorts out the history of Japanese history education since the Meiji Restoration.The content is based on time clues,mainly through history textbooks and historical education policies.Chapter I introduces schools and history textbooks in early Meiji,focusing on the establishment of an education system and various history textbooks.Chapter II discusses the relationship between the education policies and history textbooks during Meiji,focusing on explaining the connection between history education policies and history textbooks,and highlighting the influence of the Tennoh’s willpower on history education.Chapter III expands the history education in the middle and late Meiji,focusing on the impact of the process of textbooks from review to national customization on history education.Chapter IV starts from the history education in the Taisho and the early Showa,focusing on the history education under the customized system of textbook country and the influence of the national school system on history education.Chapter V introduces the history education since the late Showa,mainly through time clues to develop the evolution of history education policies after the war and impacts on history education.The second part is the study of Japanese history textbooks.First of all,I will introduce the current review policies of Japanese textbooks.From several aspects,I will start to study the current history textbooks and some history textbooks during the Cold War.Chapter VI introduces the review of Japanese textbooks,and introduces the process and effects of the system.Chapter VII discusses the Tennoh’s narrative in current history textbooks,using textbooks as a clue to Tennohs at various stages of history,especially paying attention to the attitude of Right-textbooks to the Tennoh.Chapter VIII discusses Japan’s boundary concept and self-positioning in current history textbooks,and discusses the viewpoints in history textbooks from the perspectives of geographic cognition,history and international relations.Chapter IX discusses the concept of war in history textbooks from the perspective of how Japan recognizes the origins of World War II,and conducts comparative discussions through two types of textbooks,non-right and right.Chapter X discusses the attitude toward China in the history textbooks from the perspective of the War of Resistance Against Japan,and also discusses the comparison between two types of textbooks that are non-right and right.Chapter XI introduces the image of PRC in the history textbooks of Japanese junior high schools in the mid-Cold War,starting from the impact of the PRC narratives as objective facts and viewpoints in the textbooks and the development of Sino-Japanese relations on the PRC narratives in the textbooks to understand the current political figures’ attitudes toward China provide references.The third part looks forward to the development trend of Japanese history education.Chapter XII discusses the relationship between Japanese history education and the consciousness on Independence of Japan.It discusses the problem on Independence of Japan in the development of history education in junior and senior middle schools,and finally analyzes the concept of "Independence".Chapter XIII introduces the recent trends and development trends of Japanese history education through the recent history education reform in Japanese high schools.It mainly discusses the direct causes of the reform on history education,introduces specific measures and recent developments of the reform,and looks forward to the direction of reform.
