| Objective:Taking the theoretical framework of prescriptions of Chinese materia medica as the basic academic framework model,this study sorts out and researches into the Prescriptions of the Bureau of Taiping People's Welfare Pharmacy(????????)(hereinafter referred to as The Prescriptions[??])in the Song Dynasty from six aspects,i.e.indication,formula,combination,usage,efficiency,and classification in order to explore the academic features of The Prescriptions under the perspective of the theoretical framework of prescriptions of Chinese materia medica.Methods:The theoretical framework of prescriptions of Chinese materia medica is a comparatively new research method that emerged in recent years to build the theoretical system of prescriptions of Chinese materia medica.Since the theoretical framework system can help establish a relatively systematic pattern structure,it is of certain innovative significance and academic value to the study of the ancient classics on prescriptions of Chinese materia medica.The theoretical framework of prescriptions of Chinese materia medica can be divided into three levels: basic theory,applied theory,and developmental theory.Among which,the basic theory is composed of six aspects: indication,formula,combination,usage,efficiency,and classification.In this paper,the study is mainly carried out from the above six aspects with the theoretical framework of prescriptions of Chinese materia medica as the basic method and idea,and the features of prescriptions in The Prescriptions as the focus.Besides,other methods including history,philology,data statistics are also adopted in this study.Through the utilization of the theoretical framework of prescriptions of Chinese materia medica and other research methods,the prescriptions in The Prescriptions are sorted out,so as to gain an insight into The Prescriptions and the features of its prescriptions from multiple points of view in a clearer way.Results:1.According to the system of the theoretical framework of prescriptions,its theories of indications are divided into indications based on cases,symptoms,and diseases.However,in the prescriptions recorded in The Prescriptions,3 types of indications are often involved.For classification,the prescriptions are classified into the corresponding type of indications according to their tendency of indications.As seen from the related data arrangement,we can see that in The Prescriptions the indications of most prescriptions are based on diseases.It shows that it is convenient to select the prescription in The Prescriptions.At the same time,the difference in the number of cases of indications based on cases and symptoms is not big.Even some prescriptions have the same features of indications.2.The indications of most prescriptions in The Prescriptions are based on diseases.It shows that it is convenient to select the prescription and use medicine in The Prescriptions.It is the feature of the preparation of The Prescriptions.In The Prescriptions,the indications of prescriptions for each type of disease have their features.However,overall speaking,the indications are the most common diseases in society at that time.Therefore,the features of indications are directly related to the type of disease and treatment method in society at that time.3.The Prescriptions does not clearly describe the features of components of prescriptions,but according to the record of Xu Hong's Overview of Guidelines,from medical officials' discussion of prescriptions at that time,we can see that components of prescriptions included in The Prescriptions follow the classic discussions such as Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor and the Holy Husbandman's Classic on Roots and Herbs.As seen from the analysis of some classical prescriptions in The Prescriptions,the components and efficacies of these prescriptions are very strict.The description of the treatment of symptoms may be a little exaggerated.However,it can be passed down to now,indicating that features of components of prescriptions in The Prescriptions can stand the test of history.4.The Prescriptions are divided into 14 categories.Each category has its features of compatibility of medicines.We mainly studied the prescriptions in each category of treatment in The Prescriptions with the data analysis and statistics function of TCMISS.In terms of the overall features of compatibility of medicines in The Prescriptions,common diseases and those with a high incidence in society at that time are paid attention to.At the same time,in terms of compatibility of medicines of prescriptions,the stable drug combination relationship was gradually formed.5.In The Prescriptions,the usage and methods of prescriptions are mainly discussed from the perspective of dosage and dosage form.From the perspective of features,in The Prescriptions,different diseases are treated by changing the dosage.At the same time,the dosage of some prescriptions has a big range or the related efficacy can be achieved by dose escalation.In the prescriptions in The Prescriptions,most of them are pills and powder.Seen from the dosage form of prescriptions in The Prescriptions,its basic principles are convenient for doctors,patients,and the selection and use of medicine.6.In the research on the efficacy of prescriptions in The Prescriptions,because in the text there is no theoretical record on the efficacies of prescriptions,the author made full use of a series of theoretical description of Xu Hong in Overview of Guidelines and completed the comparative study with the arrangement of efficacy features of prescriptions in The Prescriptions on this basis.7.The classification of prescriptions in The Prescriptions is relatively simple.The whole text is classified based on the disease treated,which represents the basic types of diseases of people at that time.Conclusions:1.Under the perspective of the theoretical framework of prescriptions of Chinese materia medica,the originally disordered and complicated prescription system in The Prescriptions can be classified into six categories,making it become more logical and easy to sort out to a certain degree.2.Though numerous effective prescriptions that were being used at that time have been included in each category of The Prescriptions,their collecting method is very simple.However,we can find that,by means of the theoretical framework,some characteristics and rules can be summarized even from such a disordered and simple collection of prescriptions,which exactly reflects the advantage of the theoretical framework.3.The unique feature of prescription selection and drug use in The Prescriptions undoubtedly reveals the characteristics of medicine in the Song Dynasty,that is,the convenience in drug use,which can be seen in The Prescriptions from the wide application of pills and pulvis.These patent drugs bring much convenience for the medication of the patients,which is of significance for the advances in medicine in terms of the physician's and patient's usage of prescriptions.4.From the perspective of today's prescriptions of Chinese materia medica,instead of being trapped in the negative comments made by the physicians in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties,we should recognize that the convenience in drug use is an inexorable trend of medical progress and a path for medical development that should be pursued by physicians and patients.5.There are 14 treatment categories in The Prescriptions,and in terms of the number of collected prescriptions,wind-induced diseases,febrile diseases,spleen and stomach diseases,gynecology and pediatrics rank ahead.This undoubtedly reveals that diseases in these categories are more common in the medication demands in society at that time. |
