Objective: To explore the influencing factors of disease-related knowledge and its relationship with quality of life, anxiety, depression and coping styles in patients with Crohn's disease(CD).To understand the degree of the patient's information demand in different clinical knowledge of the disease and the degree of acceptance in different access channels. Methods: This study included 157 patients with definite diagnosis of CD from April 2017 to November 2017 in department of gastroenterology of our hospital. We got access to relevant demographic characteristics of patients, and used a series of questionnaires, like the Crohn's and Colitis Knowledge(CCKNOW)for evaluating the level of disease-related knowledge, the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire(IBDQ)for evaluating the quality of life of patients, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS)for evaluating the clinical anxiety and Depression Scale in patients, the Brief Coping Operations Preference Enquiry(Brief COPE)for evaluating the coping strategies of patients when facing problems with disease. Then we analysed the relationships between these variables and manifests these relationships by using CSM model. In addition, this study further included 159 patients with CD from April 2017 to December 2017 in our hospital cases, and got access to relevant demographic characteristics of patients. Then we used the modified information needs of Crohn's Disease knowledge questionnaire to assess patients' information demand of disease in many aspects, and analyze the factors associated with the information demand.Besides,we studied the acceptance of the different channels to accessing the information of disease. Results: There is a significant correlation between the disease-related knowledge of the CD patients with the educational background of the patients, the region and the disease-related surgical history(P<0.05).Patients having higher educational degree, living in the city, having surgical history tend to have higher level of CCKNOW.There is a significant correlation between the patient's knowledge level and the quality of life, anxiety, emotional coping and negative coping(P<0.05).The above variables were analyzed by Common Sense Model(CSM).The high level of disease-related knowledge can urge patients to use maladaptive coping strategies to induce anxiety and reduce their quality of life which unhealthy physical and psychological health can improve patients' knowledge level. The disease-related information demand of patients with Crohn's disease are generally high,Female patients, young patients, patients with fertility idea, patients with young age of onset, patients with good disease behavior(B1)have significantly higher information demand of fertility. The information demand of clinical treatment is higher in young patients.Patients living in the rural area, with short disease duration have high information demand in life management. The patient's acceptance of different information access channels is various.Doctor guidance, brochure, and video are the first three of the first choice of the patient's information source. Conclusion: knowledge level is related to high education level, living in cities and past operative history. It can influence patient's outcome by stimulating patients' maladaptive coping strategies, resulting in increased anxiety and lower quality of life.At the same time, unhealthy physical and psychological health is positive feedback on the level of knowledge of the patient. The disease-related information demands in many aspects are generally high. The information demand in some aspects are significantly associated with the demographic characteristics of the patients.Doctor guidance, brochure, and video are the first three of the first choice of the patient's information source. Therefore some corresponding education programs can be developed to improve the patient's physical and psychological health in the future.
