This paper has researched the theory of lung collaterals deeply, Summarize the physiological characters and pathological changes of lung collaterals, discuss the reguar etiology and pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, treatment principle and common herbs of diseases of lung collaterals , prove that many difficult diseases of respiratory system belong to diseases of lung collaterals; make“dredgeing collaterals therapy”as the principle of diseases of lung collaterals, summarize the rules of treatment with herbs for lung’s diseases.This study based on traditional methods of research onTCM, searched a large number of ancient and modern documents, applied the research methods of literature, systematicly summarized the physiological functionaries and pathological changes of lung collaterals, set up the theory system of diseases of lung collaterals. Using method of content analysis combined with modern medical research to discuss the relativity of difficulty diseases of respiratory system with theory of lung collaterals .summarized the treatment principles with herbs on the diseases of lung collaterals.The study find that the essence of lung collaterals is that lung collaterals include the blood circulation system, lymph circulation system, gas exchange system and interstitial immune system of lung. The difficulty diseases of respiratory system such as Pulmonary Fibrosis, COPD, Bronchiectasia, Lung Cancer, Asthma and Allergic Rhinitis belong to diseases of lung collaterals. The discovery will help to give round consideration to both the overall differentiation and the locality or microcosmic differentiation, thereby it can help to enhance the clinical effectiveness.
