Things Turn Out Contrary To The One Wishes

This paper focuses on the character research of Hannes Meyer,the second principal of the Bauhaus.During his tenure in Bauhaus,Hannes Meyer initiated the Architectural Education in the school,which also had a profound impact on the overall teaching of the school;After leaving,as a former "Bauhauser",his life path and career development are still closely related to Bauhaus.In the research of design history,the attention to headmaster Bauhaus and famous teachers is the most basic part of the research field.Compared with the rich research on Gropius and Mies,the current research on Hannes Meyer is in a relatively insufficient state.Based on the existing files and materials related to Meyer,this paper takes literature research as the main research method,supplemented by the comparison of other relevant figures in the same period,through a more comprehensive combing of his life story,life style and life style His main positions,projects and social relations reveal the formation and transformation of his ideas,the role and influence of the characters on Bauhaus,and his historical status as an important modernist architect and educator in the 20th century.In his youth,Hannes Meyer stepped onto the road of architect through his own efforts in the plight of life,and formed the representative ideas and design techniques of modernism in the era environment.Based on the study of the historical facts of Hannes Meyer's teaching in Bauhaus,this paper focuses on the analysis of his curriculum reform in the school,and probes into his problems and controversies in the concept of design education on the basis of relatively rich literature.After leaving Bauhaus,he followed his own architectural concept and "|thoughts" and continued to engage in his own career and publicize Bauhaus in the Soviet Union and Mexico.However,due to political reasons,it didn't achieve the ideal expectation,and finally "backfired" and left the mainstream of modern architectural practice in the middle of the 20th century.The paper also starts from the relationship between him and Bauhaus,reveals the relationship between him and Bauhaus people(including women),and proves the diversity and complexity of Meyer's thought.At the end of the paper,it combs Meyer's architectural view from "Garden City Movement" and "cooperative movement" to modernism with functionalism as the core,and analyzes his ideological change of "Marxist architectural view" formed by his acceptance of the influence of socialism.Based on the description and research of the life of Hannes Meyer,this paper tries to restore the historical context of the characters and show the development path of an alternative modernist architect in the 20th century;At the same time,it analyzes the role of Meyer in the development of Bauhaus globalization,and reexamines the historical relationship and ideological value between Meyer and Bauhaus in the centenary of Bauhaus.
