| Active chemical properties,bad dispersion and compatibility with aqueous solution and organic resin substrate,onefold color of aluminum pigments gain difficulties in its application of water-based silver ink formulation.Taking aluminum pigments as the breakthrough point,organic/inorganic hybrid modification,single layered/double layered encapsulation and coloring were researched in this paper.Modify and prepare water-based acrylic resin according to the surface characteristics of aluminum powder,formulate color water-based silver ink with high gloss and excellent comprehensive performance.Firstly,organic/inorganic hybrid encapsulation of aluminum powders was accomplished by using improved sol-gel method.Through the single factor experiment method,the results showed that the optimum reaction conditions were:2g of aluminum pigments,50℃ of reaction temperature,6h of reaction time,110ml of ethanol,3.0ml of vinyltriethoxysilane(VTES),2.0ml of tetrathoxysilane(TEOS),3.0ml of ammonia and 5.0ml of water,uniform and compact coating film can deposit on the surface of the aluminum powder in this situation.Base on above,the final optimum reaction conditions of preparing blue hybrid coated aluminum pigments were:co-deposition method,2g of aluminum powder,1.5 of pigment,3.0ml of ammonia,2.0ml of TEOS,3.0ml of VTES,50℃ of reaction temperature,6h of reaction time.Under this reaction condition we can prepare aluminum pigment with ideal coating effect,bright color and high gloss.In order to maintain the high gloss of aluminum powder,sol/gel method combined with in-situ polymerization was used to encapsulate aluminum pigments with double layers.Through the orthogonal experiment method,the results showed that the optimum reaction conditions were:on the basis of 2g monolayer coated aluminum pigments,dosage of other items are 0.4g of methyl methacrylate(MMA),0.4g of methyl acrylate(MA),90℃ of reaction temperature,6h of reaction time,then we can acquire double coated aluminum powder with high gloss and good corrosion inhibition efficiency.At the same time,coloring during double coated process is much better and the optimized reaction conditions were:0.4g of MMA,0.4g of MA,90℃ of reaction temperature,4h of reaction time,3g of phthalocyanine blueFor the sake of improving the dispersion in aqueous resin of aluminum pigments,styrene(St)and hydrophilic monomer maleic anhydride(MAn)were added base on the TEOS/VTES modification,to prepare double layer modified aluminum pigments through graft polymerization on the surface.Through the orthogonal experiment method,the optimized conditions listed as below:80℃ of polymerization temperature,5h of reaction time,0.15g of initiator,and the monomer ratio is 1:1,the monomer 0.2g,and then the modified aluminum pigment can ensure high gloss and good dispersion at the same time.Optimized reaction conditions of coloring during double layer modification were:0.15g of initiator,80℃ of reaction temperature,4h of reaction time,3g of phthalocyanine blue,1:1 of monomer ratio,the monomer 0.2g.The acquired color aluminum pigments showed good results on subjective analysis,b value and color differenceMonomer styrene(St)was introduced to acquire modified acrylic resin by using semi continuous solution polymerization because of the low gloss,poor film formation and bad compatibility with resin of acrylic resin during formulating water-based silver ink.According to the single factor analysis method,the initiator of modifying styrene acrylic resin was Tert butyl peroxide(TBPB)and with dosage of 4%,the optimum synthesis process were:methyl methacrylate(MMA)accounts for 15%of the total resin prescription,100℃ of polymerization temperature,1:2 of the mixed solvent methanol and dimethyl benzene ratio,50%of solvent amount,among which the optimal formula of resin was:15%of methyl methacrylate(MMA),21.7%of styrene(St),43.4%of butyl acrylate(BA),3%of acrylic acid(AA),16.9%of methyl ethyl methacrylate(HEMA).Under this condition,the modified styrene acrylic acid resin can satisfy the requests for viscosity,solid content and dispersion of color water-based silver inkTake the modified aluminum pigment as main material,base on the pigment/binder ratio,set 1:1:1 mass ratio of aluminum pigment,distilled water and ethanol,measure each component separately(the quality of acrylic resin liquid with concentration of 30%can be measured according to pigment/binder ratio,corresponding to the pigment/binder ratio was 1.8,that was,the amount of aluminum pigments:acrylic resin=1.8)to formulate water-based connecting material,then mixed them to acquire color water-based silver ink,and the gloss,viscosity,adhesion,stability and water resistance were also characterized.The results showed that the water-based silver ink ensured the aluminum pigments gloss and ink viscosity at the same time In addition,double layer modified aluminum pigments were coated compactly and its compatibility with modified resin and dispersion in aqueous solution were confirmed to improve a lot through the analysis of coated sample,so did the stability and adhesion,which could prolong the service life of the water-based silver ink. |
