The purpose of this research was to identify the relationship, if any, between servant leadership practices among evangelical pastors in Montana and pastoral engagement among Montana pastors of evangelical churches.;This research consisted of three components. The first component identified servant leaders among the sample group by administering Wong and Page's (2003) Servant Leadership Profile---Revised (SLP-R). This self-reported survey of servant leadership has been utilized hundreds of times across different contexts. The Cronbach's coefficient alpha is .89-.94.;The second component of this study was the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-17). The UWES-17 is a three-factor, seventeen-question self-reporting instrument designed to measure work engagement factors of vigor, absorption and dedication. The Cronbach's coefficient alpha is .68-.91 across the three factors (Goliath- Yarde & Roodt, 2011).;The final component of this study was the collection of demographic data on the pastor and church including population context, experience level, church size, staffing level and educational attainment.;The results were analyzed for descriptive and inferential statistical correlation using Pearsons correlations, two-tailed tests, independent samples t test, and multivariate analysis ANOVA. Tukey HSD tests were utilized to verify statistical differences.;The results indicated the presence of a positive statistical correlation between servant leadership and work engagement. It also indicated a negative correlation of servant leadership and work engagement among solo pastors of churches with lower attendance.
