Abstract/Summary:
The following study had an aim to look at how the management and stewardship of donor funds are relative to outcomes in basic education in Kenya. The study was guided by five objectives. The first objective is to find out whether the management and stewardship of donor funds lead to accountability by institutions given the mandate to manage the donor funds. The second objective is to find out whether the effective management and stewardship of donor funds lead to increased enrollment of pupils in free basic education. The third objective is to find out whether the effective management and stewardship of donor funds lead to greater access to free basic education by pupils in Kenya. The fourth objective is to find out whether the effective management and stewardship of donor funds lead to quality education in public primary schools in Kenya, and the fifth is to find out whether the effective management and stewardship of donor funds lead to greater awareness of financial management guidelines in the management of school funds among primary school managers in Kenya. The study findings included that the management and stewardship of donor funds lead to accountability by institutions given the mandate to manage the donor funds.;The effective management and stewardship of donor funds lead to increased enrollment of pupils in free basic education. The effective management and stewardship of donor funds lead to increased enrollment of pupils in free basic education. The effective management and stewardship of donor funds lead to greater access to free basic education by pupils in Kenya. According to the findings of the research, the researcher came to the conclusion that effective management and stewardship of donor funds correlate with good outcomes to the free education program and, hence, donors need to ensure that school administrators and the government provide clear guidelines and conditions that will be a driving force for school administrators to ensure that they effectively manage donor funds, and are good stewards of donor funds so that the free primary education program succeeds and donors inject more funds in the program.
