Abstract/Summary:
Corporate universities were entities that are changed the way education was viewed. The purpose of this exploratory study was to examine the skills (management, servant leadership, financial literacy, systems thinking, and information technology) employees of a large global financial institution rated proficient and relevant. The subjects of this study held entry level, middle level, and senior management business positions. This study employed quantitative methods to answer the research questions and examine corporate university personnel's attitude and used a 5-point Likert scale. The employees responded that they were proficient in almost all of the skills. There was a highly significant very strong positive relationship between all of the proficiencies and relevancies for most variables. There was a relationship between college and engagement. Employees who learned more in college tended to be more engaged and saw the relevance of being engaged. For all of the variables, employees learned the most through life experience. However, for all of the skills, employees learned more through corporate training than they did through college. There was a highly significant, strong negative relationship between corporate training and life experience. This suggests that people learn through corporate training what they have not yet learned through life experience. A regression analysis revealed that engagement was predicted by employees' proficiency in management, financial literacy, and servant leadership. Corporate universities can be a very powerful tool when properly functioning. Collaboration between colleges and businesses will be beneficial to learning in the future.
