Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study was to obtain evaluative, quantitative information on building space, personnel, operating budgets, and instructional equipment used in selected vocational programs at post-secondary institutions. A questionnaire designed to require quantitative, operational data was distributed to twenty-seven colleges in seventeen states. Seventy eight percent of the questionnaires were completed and returned.;Analysis of the data revealed significantly different quantities of resources were required by the different vocational programs. Respondents reported more resources required by the trade and industrial cluster of programs; especially space, operating budgets and equipment. Student enrollment patterns, which varied greatly, had an important impact on program efficiencies. The consistency of the relative position of programs on resource utilization profiles suggests the use of such profiles as an aid in evaluation of vocational programs and in decision making by institutional administrators.
