| New Community Church in LaGrange, Georgia experienced a sixteen month pastoral transition, during which time the church had no senior pastor or interim pastor. During this time, the church lost a substantial part of its membership and finances, yet somehow regained growth and developed a healthier congregation as a result of a lengthy transition. This project will examine key factors contributing to the church's successful transition to a new leadership model and development of a strategy for church health and growth. Using New Community Church as a case study, comparisons to other church transition processes, congregational surveys, and biblical and other related literature, the project will present solid practical biblical steps to restoring the local church to back to Matthew 16:18 model.
