Abstract/Summary:
The study responds to Saynisch's December of 2010 call for tools and methods for project management practitioners to address project complexity. The response to Saynisch's missive is a set of recursive procedures organized around a central communication medium -- The Project Complexity Dashboard. The study strove to answer two research questions. Will the Project Complexity Dashboard sufficiently outline typical sources and forms of complexity to help project teams organize well and effectively communicate projects? Will the Project Complexity Dashboard help practitioners resolve project complexity? The research team was unable to find a suitable instrument to answer the research questions; therefore, the researcher created The Computer Dashboard User Experience Survey. Data collection in this research supports exploratory factor analysis of the Computer Dashboard User Experience Survey using descriptive research in the quantitative tradition. The population supporting the exploratory factor analysis includes those who have used computer dashboards as project practitioners or customers, with unrestricted element selection within the collection period. This sampling provided 308 responses to support the exploratory factor analysis. The study demonstrates validity and reliability of the Computer Dashboard User Experience Survey. To answer the research questions, the study concludes with recommendations to measure the Project Complexity Dashboard utility using the Computer Dashboard User Experience Survey.
