This paper discusses the factors associated with the effort of nutrition education in elementary school classrooms. A survey of a random sample of 200 public elementary school teachers was conducted. An instrument was developed to assess knowledge, attitudes, and behavior about the relationship of nutrition to cardiovascular disease, hypertension, cancer and obesity and their relationship to the effort of nutrition education in the classroom and emphasis on nutrition education in the classroom.
