Abstract/Summary:
This quantitative research study explored the existence of significant relationships between male and female Gulf War-era II Veterans' quality of life satisfaction (QOLS), employment, health, financial security, relationships, and self-fulfillment after transitioning into society and the difference between satisfaction with life (SWL) during and after military service. The research was guided by two foundational theories: self-efficacy and social identity. One hundred and forty-eight veterans provided data for this research study by completing a survey, which consisted of two standardized instruments: quality of life satisfaction scale (QOLSS) and satisfaction with life scale (SWLS), and researcher-designed demographic questions. The multiple regression analysis and a repeated measure analysis of variance (ANOVA) were utilized in this study to analyze the data collected. The results indicated a predictive correlation between Veterans' QOLS, health, relationships, employment, financial security, and self-fulfillment. The ANOVA showed no significant difference between Veterans' SWL during and after military service. The demographic characteristics results showed that gender and quality of life had no predictive influence on Veterans' QOLS after military service.
