cope and Method of Study. The primary purpose of this study was to determine a base-line awareness of the wheat producers who resided in a four-county area in north central Oklahoma of the newly initiated Oklahoma State University Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program in wheat and, also, to determine the specific major pest related problems the wheat producers were confronted with in the production of their wheat. Eleven hundred and ninety-four wheat producers (77 percent), a stratified random sample, participated in the study. A telephone-survey questionnaire was developed and used to gather data for the research effort. The instrument was designed to determine: pest related problems affecting wheat production, respondent's awareness of IPM, respondent's attitudes and practices concerning wheat production, and the demographic data of each respondent.;Findings and Conclusions.
