Abstract/Summary:
The role of DOC and DIC in forest stream and soil acidification was evaluated at a watershed in the Georgia piedmont. DOC and DIC concentrations were measured in stream water, soil water, throughfall and groundwater. Emphasis was placed on storm event sampling. As part of this work, a novel method was developed to isolate DOC from natural waters. The effect of natural organic anions on ANC data was also evaluated.
