Abstract/Summary:
Buoyancy-enhanced mixed convection flow and heat transfer have been studied experimentally and numerically in vertical channels in which wall blocks were placed on one plate. Two vertical plates with one isothermal, and the other adiabatic, thermally formed the channel. The problem was treated in the steady state regime and as two-dimensional. The Grashof number range investigated was from 10;From the study it is indicated that the heat transfer is mainly a function of the three geometric ratios, and the Reynolds number. The average and local Nusselt numbers decrease with increasing Gr/Re;The experimental study executed a few geometric cases with variable Reynolds and Grashof numbers.
