Abstract/Summary:
The magnetic and electronic properties of {dollar}rm{lcub}Ysb{lcub}1-x{rcub} Prsb{lcub}x{rcub} Basb2 Cusb3 Osb7{rcub}{dollar} single crystals and some related tetravalent systems have been systematically studied. The results of this study not only allows us to elucidate the mechanism responsible for the unusual behavior found in the Pr doped high T{dollar}sb{lcub}rm c{rcub}{dollar} compound but also supplies a means for understanding the nature of tetravalent or mixed valent rare earths where the complexity of magnetism is observed.
