| A general framework to study possible violations of Lorentz invariance is considered. The neutrino sector of this extension of the Standard Model is studied and applied to experiments to develop new tools to search for deviations from exact Lorentz symmetry.;The general technique is implemented and illustrated for its direct use by the experimental community. Novel unconventional effects that could arise in neutrino-oscillation experiments are identified and characterized. In an independent study, the violation of Lorentz invariance and neutrino masses are considered to construct an alternative description of neutrino-oscillation results. The main properties of this toy model as well as its description of experimental results are presented. |
