Abstract/Summary:
Product cost is one of the most important and essential factors for both manufacturers and customers. However, the different cost views/scopes will lead to the different conclusions. The incorrect cost view will cause numerous problems between manufacturers and customers and eventually be harmful for the manufacturers.; Based on the system life cycle cost philosophy, this dissertation established a general Post-Manufacturing Product Cost (PMPC) analysis model, including creating a general total cost structure, creating the architecture of PMPC, discussing each cost element in detail, generating the corresponding mathematics models for each cost element, and consolidating all cost elements.; This dissertation also designed and implemented a software prototype, the TEC System (Total Equipment Cost), based on the PMPC analysis model. Furthermore, a project example was studied by using TEC to exercise and validate the model. On the end of the dissertation, the future research direction was discussed...
