Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study was to determine some the barriers organizations have encountered in the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The population for this study was the 676 CEOS of the Fortune 500 Companies and the S&P 500 Companies. Of these, 131 responded with a return rate of 19.4%. The standard deviation and analysis of the variance (ANOVA) were the statistical tests used to analyze the data. The barriers this study found were lack of top management involvement, improper training of employees, monitoring the information received in developing the application management strategy, application errors, and outage repairs of an application management.
