Abstract/Summary:
This study was designed to examine the quality of mentoring as perceived by company grade mission support officers at an Air Force base. The study also measured the turnover intentions of this group and examined the relationship between quality mentoring and turnover intentions. Preexisting survey instruments were used to measure quality of mentoring and turnover intentions. The mentees' responses were further examined by demographic variables of age, gender, rank, and Air Force career specialty. The study results indicated a positive relationship between mentoring and intent to stay in the Air Force. Results also showed that lower ranking individuals experienced lower quality mentoring and older individuals experienced a higher intent to remain in the Air Force.
