| Various phenomena in magnetic tape recording are studied. The objective is to understand the complicated recording process from the underlying magnetization level. In the course of this work, a Vector Particle Hysteresis Model was used to describe the write process, and a micro-magnetic MR head model was developed to study the nonlinear read back process. The topics studied include: write equalization, effects of head field rise time, dropouts, and track edge recording. |
