Abstract/Summary:
The intent of this research is to establish an accurate time-line of prominent Indian mathematicians and/or astronomers. Inaccuracies and miscalculations dating these scholars have caused much of the controversy regarding their contributions. The following chapters provide the correct time frame as to their era as well as the proofs for formulas that have been attributed to later mathematicians.; Chapter One introduces how concepts and interpretations of Sanskrit literature influence relevant theories practiced by the scholars noted in later chapters. It also provides information as to how miscalculations dating pertinent historical events perpetuated the misconceptions that mathematicians from later eras first introduced many of the current theories.; The second chapter provides a brief history and geography of the ancient landmasses. One must acknowledge that geographical changes and migrating patterns greatly impact present day society. What was once known as Jambudvipa no longer exists today, although the concepts and theorems remain with us always.; Chapters Three through Eight pertain to the prominent mathematicians and/or astronomers and their most significant contributions to modern day theory. These contributions have greatly enhanced our modern day theories.
