In the first part I study several thermal asymptotically AdS spacetimes numerically and, when possible, analytically, in connection to the gauge/gravity formulation of the black hole information paradox. I show that their thermodynamic phase structure contains metastable and unstable phases, which I interpret from the point of view of the corresponding dual theories.;In the second part I study restrictions on the scattering amplitudes of the worldvolume of branes and the worldsheet of long confining strings (such as QCD flux tubes) in order for these theories to be integrable, and show the equivalence between supersymmetric N = 1 effective actions and the kappa-symmetric, N =2 integrable Green-Schwarz action. |
