Cognitive-behavioral therapy has been found effective in the treatment of depression. However, there are many clinicians and researchers who view cognitive-behavioral therapy and antidepressant medications as independent forms of intervention. The present manuscript of the meta-analysis discusses the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy on depression in a qualitative and quantitative manner. It also discusses the efficacy of pharmacotherapy on depression in a quantitative manner. This meta-analysis analyzed the data and listed each quantitative study, and interpreted them into a correlational coefficient chart. The data indicate that cognitive-behavioral therapy is most effective when compared to medical therapy on depression. |
