Stable colloidal dispersions of ;Multilayer inorganic thin films were prepared by sequential alternate immersion in cationic polyelectrolytes (poly(allylamine) hydrochloride, PAH) and in lamellar inorganic colloids. The structure of a prototypical inorganic self-assembled multilayer, ;The film growth of self-assembled HTiNbO;These new self-assembled thin films may open potential applications in which the control of layer sequence and special properties of the inorganic sheets as, for example, semiconductors and high dielectric insulators, are exploited.
