Field experiments in decision-making by current and potential immigrants

This dissertation uses field experiments to investigate decision-making by current and potential immigrants in three domains: provision of local public goods, bargaining behavior, transmission of information through social networks. In general, this dissertation finds significant behavioral differences between populations which help us to explain observed regularities in economic development and immigration decisions.
