Abstract/Summary:
In order to conduct the main research in this dissertation, a feed network model for the MLA was created to yield accurate predictions of its code phase variation or group delay performance. Next, portions of the signal processing for a software receiver were created to estimate the carrier-to-noise ratio.;The signal processing portion is crucial to the real-time adaptation of the two null-steering techniques introduced in this research. In addition, it served as a tool to investigate the performance of the two null-steering approaches in the presence of continuous wave and pulsed interference sources by monitoring the resulting carrier-to-noise ratio estimates. An ancillary research area of this dissertation involved the comparative analysis of two carrier-to-noise ratio estimation algorithms through various interference and hardware limitation environments, along with a transistor level design of an RF front-end.
